If you've been cruising ebay, you may have noticed a SHITLOAD of cheap AES games being posted recently.

The seller is gamebuyers, which is BuyRite.

If that isn't bad enough.. if you noticed something strange, there's no cart pics. These are all bare carts. The listing is VAGUE for a reason.

So, if you see a deal too good to be true, it's Buyrite. Keep in mind their shipping practices. (usually, no packing) So you'll be lucky to get a working bare cart with little damage.

Oh crap!

I just bought a KOF 2002 Dreamcast disk from them. Other then packing issues, do they have any other issues?

Do they even ship?:mad_2: :mad_2: :mad_2: :crying:

I almost made the mistake of buying a Matrimelee AES cart from them a few weeks ago. The $189.99 price they were charging was awfully tough to pass up, but thanks to some members here, I saved myself the aggrivation of buying from buyrite (aka Gamebuyers). WHo knows....given buyrite's track records, maybe I even saved my $189.99! :)

If you're lucky.. they'll ship it within 3 weeks.. after charging your card immediately.

I've heard that their selling tactics on ebay are a little different, because they make listings of games they actually HAVE.

Shipping practices, however are the same. No packing.. your Disk will most likely be shipped in a bare envelope.

Wonderful, I know. Just keep an eye out.:eye:

I made the mistake of ordering old-style Neo sticks from them a long time ago, but I had a good paypal balance and was planning to pay that way. I was told to wait to send Paypal until I got a Paypal invoice, but thankfully that day never came so I saved my $$.

Hmmmmm... did you buy a game from the or something how do you know it is bare?

Trust what these people are saying. Buyrite is a joke when it comes to being a legitamate business. If you are indeed in doubt please do check out Boycott Buy-Rite Video Games. Be sure to check out the Better Business Bureau's report on Buy-Rite. I wouldn't even chance dealing with these guys.

check the listing.. there's a ton like this.

Some do have a box and/or instructions. They post pics when they have the stuff complete in good condition.

Fishy, ain't it?

(No, I've never bought from them, luckily enough)

I e-mailed them about one of they're games, they told me it's complete with and has not been taken apart. And all I asked them was "is the game complete with everything?"

Well, this speaks for itself. I could care less what the owner has to say about it.

"Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record due to unanswered complaints concerning delivery problems & product dissatisfaction. The Bureau processed 256 complaints about this company in the last 36 months. One hundred and seventy-three of those were processed in the last 12 months."

There probably are complete games, I noticed a lot of their listings like this are fishy though.

Hey, try to get a good deal, it's your cash. Just remember who you're dealing with and think about why there's no pics.

I'm not buying from them, I just like to e-mail them with questions about their products only to get a retarded answer like that,

@ VanillaThunder

I know him, I am not his firend or anything.

I'll find that # to post it so if anyone here gets ripped, they can call and get thru to a person to yell at.... they will change the #, but t will work for a while.

Give me a 24 hours to find it.

back in the saturn days i started to import big time.
buyrites prices where great. but over time repeatedly
they would take for ever to send a game.
i would pay for 1-2nd day air and they would wait a week before
sending. this just would piss me off so bad&*@#$#@!!!
so i went to ncsx they shipped my stuff asap.
after a while the just knew me by my voice.
i would just call them tell them what i wanted and how fast to ship it. they did not even have to ask for my name or address any more. thats what i call service :)

but hard to believe I did order from buyrite a few months ago.
i was desperate i need a copy of phantasy star 4 for my genesis.
buyrite was the last place in the world that had it still.
i needed it bad. i called them on the phone they said they had the game then i asked if they had metal slug 4 for the neo geo.
at that point they made me a deal they said if i bought metal slug 4 brand new for $230 they would give me phantasy star 4($30+ game in bad shape) and a neo geo art book for free.
so i thought ......... i know i should have said no but i said yes.
in 3 days i got all my stuff. that is very fast for buyrite. i think for once i got a good deal from them..... must be that mars was getting closer to earth.

Your lost,buddy.

Got mine for $180 shipped brand new from them about a week ago. No problem whatsoever.Package was really well-packed,too. Nothing but foam peanuts...

Don't get me wrong,I am not a supporter of Buy-Rite,nor their shady business practices. In fact,I didn't even know about their Ebay handle"Gamebuyers" until someone on the boards told me about it!

I,too, was overly concerned about condition/completeness/shipping method, due to the many "horror" stories going around about them.

I'm just glad everything turned out okay on my behalf

Before I knew more about them, I got a Metal Slug 3 1st Release back in June 2001 and everything went well. But, I would never buy from them again after hearing all the bad things about them since.

Here's the thing with buyrite -

If you buy off their website, they will treat you like crap and take 5 weeks to ship your stuff.

If you buy off of EBAY, that's a whole different story. On ebay, while their feedback isn't too snazzy, they realize if they continue to make people mad, they'll get negged to death and never sell anything there.

So their ebay service is wayyyyy better than their store service. Go figure.
