He can't.

The PC he uses at the University blocks the use of mIRC channels.

And he can't download new software for other various chat programs.

Fuckin firewalls, that sounds like your problem.

I haven't used express in ages, see if you can go into preferences and set the port you go out on. I've piggybacked successfully on 21 (since no one uses FTP), and other internal ports I knew of.

PS. C# OWNZ Java. Fuck, MS made it specifically to KILL Java. Sad, most MS hataz won't touch the shit though it is leagues ahead of a lot of other stuff. Well that and it's the corner stone for .NET but that's a whole nother thread...;) :D

there are no preferences :) just a simple window with username, pass, and a sign in button.

argh, oh well, tomorrow I'll be in work, and IRC I guess.

Congrats on the job, but that also means you can get on AIM as well.

Some of us have firewalls that stop IRC but not AIM.

Good thing too, otherwise my productivity would go down....:p

although nearly overcoming my psychological addiction to THC, and cutting down by about 75% of my weekly bong intake, I still am not motivated enough to work (yet).

slacker till the end. I did start on my CV/resume though. :)
