once it sells i will let you know how much i paid for mine

but Kenny has really got to watch what content he sticks in his sales as ebay can pull the plug if they see words like conversions

heck even dreamcast/saturn stuff ahs been pulle din the past from ebay uk because it was jap/us

ebay takes the piss at times, there is even a romz disc for sale on ebay uk but i bet that slips thru the net:(

Kenny,

Sorry that turned out to be a Conversion. It would have been nice to see the Hounds come out for the bidding war.

That seems like purposeful deception

I am sorry, but I think it it completely irresponsible to wait until the third paragraph of a description to state an easily overlooked sentence that describes the most important part of this auction: that is is a conversion.

It's one thing to deceptively lure bidders into an auction, and completely another to overzealously hype the real game while selling a "bootleg". I for one would be angry at a seller for even making me waste my time looking at an auction that does NOT sell the exact item listed in the original header description field. For example, when I see an auction in the eBay Motors section for a Honda Accord, I do not expect to see a replica 1:16 model, but rather the real car. That's what the header field is for, to provide a short accurate title for the item, not a means for driving you inside the auction page.

I don't really care seeing as I am knowledgeable in the field and careful in my buying practices, but irresponsible listings such as this one are a sure way of beguiling neophytes.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

I agree, look at this piece of text taking from the item's
description:

Description

"You are bidding on the Euro/US version of "Kizuna Encounter" for the Neo Geo AES/NGH Video Game System!
This is the RAREST home cartridge for the Neo Geo System!! They normally sell between $8000 & $11,000"

Jorge,

....but most importantly, it's Euro. The funny thing is I know I can't afford to pay $8,000 - $11,000 for a cart so when I originally saw it, I just said "Oh looks pretty good. Where's the manual pic?" . Unfortunately, it turned out to be a conversion and had the grim realization that I would not be given an opportunity to see one of the biggest Ebay auctions ever. No group of collectors waiting around for that last second SNIPE that we have all come to know and love. The mere thought of not getting to experience brings a tear to my eye. :crying:

Although, the auction MIGHT be misleading to some, I make sure to read EVERY LAST word in the auction before I place a bid. Just like a legal document, it only takes one (1) word, or lack there of, to change the entire meaning of the entire text. I think that this wasn't done intentionally to deceive anyone. He may have put it there, so that it could slip past EBAY and keep the auction from being removed. Anyway, we all should know by now, that nothing BIG goes on in the Wonderful World Of Neo Geo without it being known here. Hopefully, people have learned enough through their time in the scene. To come here and ask questions before making any big transactions. Just my .02 cents.

How does a conversion qualify as a "EURO" aes? A conversion is a conversion is a conversion is a conversion. I don't care what the original MVS cart it is converted from, a conversion is not from EUROPE or ASIA or AFRICA or ANTARTICA. You can print any insert you want, stick any sticker on it and do whatever the hell you want, but that doesn't make it an official SNK release.

This auction is misleading, to say the least. It smells like a Dion.

If you would look closely at his item's listing page, there is a small pic next to the Kizuna listing .There, you can see the cart, snaplock w/insert,and what is this?

A manual.

When you click on the listing to take a closer look, the manual, somehow, magically disappeared.

WTF??

Lastblade,

My whole point in referring to it as Euro has to do with a personal joke between me and Jorge. I was in no way replying to the actual converted cart itself. Although, you must admit, Euro Kizuna Encounter is THE single most expensive neo game there is. A person would have to be completely loopy to not read the ENTIRE description, and come to the boards to verify the authenticity of this cart. Besides, the pics shown do no show a manual at all. I would be concerned if this was a COMPLETE CONVERSION (ie...Cart, Insert, Manual). What makes an item worth alot of money is Condition, Rarity, Completeness. All three (3) of these must be a 9 or 10 for the game to fetch any real amount of money. I would like to be able to think more of my Neo Brethren, that they would not blindly spend $8,000 - $11,000 for an INCOMPLETE cart. Remember, a fool and their money are soon parted.

BIGPsyche,

We must have been typing at the same time. I apologize as I made a mistake. I didn't even notice the manual. That DOES make this alot different indeed.

I just took a look at the auction again and I do not see a manual in the pic? Are you saying that the manual was originally there and now the picture has been chaged? I am now confused. See, nothing good ever surrounds Euro Kizuna Encounter.

Phillip,

I'm glad that you noticed it,too. This is VERY misleading. I was tempted to buy that Ninja Masters " conversion" myself, due to the low price.

At a glance, the auction seems totally legit. It CLEARLY shows the cart,snap-lock w/insert,and manual. As I clicked my way through the listing, the manual no longer "exist" within the actual auction page.

All I can say at this point is,WTF???

Phil,

Look at the small pick next to the listing, not the auction page, itself.

The small pic contains what seems to be a "manual".

BIG I looked at the pic you're talking about. Starting on the Left side from top to bottom:

1- Snap- Case open to show front, spine back and Front Cart pic
2- Spine pic of Snaplock
3-Front Cart pic (angled)
4-Snap-Case front, spine pic (angled)
5-Snap-Case and cart Front pic (side by side)

Right side from top to bottom

1-Snap case Spine and Front pic (standing case)
2-Close up Cart Sticker Pic
3-Snap-Case spine and front pic and Cart Top pic
4-Kenny's contact information
5-Snap-Case and Cart Rear Pic

That's the picture at the top left of the auction page.

OK thats the pic you're talking about. I TRULY apologize to you BIGPsyche. I didn't see that page. I went directly from the link at the top of this thread. Now I see exactly what you are talking about. I wonder where this originated from since there are only 3 known users that could have printed up a manual for this game. There are no manual files to download from any of the homebrew pages I have been to. HMMM this brings about a very very VERY bad dilemma. That means someone with an original Euro Kizuna Encounter is up to no good. I must admit this would be THE ONLY way I would own this game. Unless I bought an authentic Kizuna Encounter JPN AES. Once again. Sorry BIGPsyche about doubting you.
