Well, in short Cabin Fever kicked ass and Mexico was ok.
Cabin fever was great. It's damn funny at times and gory as hell. I can't really think of anything I didn't like. Plus Shawn's in it!, no Topanga though It's no Dawn of the Dead, but Cabin Fever is pretty damn entertaining!

Once Upon A Time in Mexico was ok, I liked Desperado better. It basically stars Johnny Depp, which isn't really a bad thing. Depp and the monster gun fights are what makes this movie good. There's really no interesting story and the Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) was a lot cooler and lively in Desperado.

Both are worth seeing in theaters. Oh yeah, after seeing Freddy vs. Jason ,28 Days Later, Cabin Fever, and Wrong Turn this year, I just have to confirm that House of 1,000 Corpses sucks penis

"Are you ok mister...."

"I don't know."

"You will be!"

OK, that was a bit fucked up, though it didn't seem to hurt him too much, he is a damn good shot! But, thing I am confused about... Was he a good guy? I mean, he killed so many innocent people. And most important question, what happened to the dog!?

ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT "ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO"
IS WTF???

If this is the way Robert Rodriguez plans to exit the "Mariachi" films it's pure shit IMO. It was obviously a nod to Sergio Leone's epic spaghetti western of Once Upon A Time In The West with Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards and Woody Strode... done up in a powder keg Mexico of a near future setting no less, picking sometime after the events in Desperado. I think the man's lost his edge with all of the freakin' SPY KIDS films and he should either redeem himself with a prequel to all of this, or call it quits.

The movie has no cohesive storyline at all... it's as if all the cast just showed up to make a movie with him for the sake of making a movie... no doubt chopped up together during the filmming of both Spy Kids 2 and 3, leaving the viewer with a less than stellar flick to entertain. Heck Banderas himself has about maybe 45 minutes of screen time in the whole darned movie... there's waaaaaay to many characters that never get fully developed, or explained upon, and you really couldn't care less when they finally are killed. I really am dissapointed at the fact I waited 8 long years for a follow up, and this is the shit I was handed. EL MARIACHI is still the best, but Desperado is the more rounded out of the three films. Personally, this film is forever on my "SHIT LIST!"

Only see this movie when it goes to the Dollar Cinema, (if you have such a thing in your area) YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

The film was laughably bad... So cheesy you wonder if it was supposed to be taken seriously. It wasn't worth the price of admission, but oh well. I was in the mood for a good Mexican movie tonight... and I went. Too bad I went to this movie... hehe... it was quite lame, but overall, it made me smile with its absurdity.

I loved Once Upon a Time...

It was a "fun" movie -nothing more.

Still, Johnny Depp has only confirmed that he is Mr. Clutch for really weird characters. It's like: "Have a bizzare character that has an entire script hinging on his shoulders? Get Depp!"

I've got to say, I want to see a sequel, with Depp and the Chicklett (sp?) kid. As I told Shadowland, they're like some strange comic book characters come to life.

If you stayed through the credits, you'd see Depp putting his shades back on with fire in the background... I wonder if we'll see him again? (heh)

minor spoiler, kinda

Actually the more I think about Mexico, the more I think it's like a comic book. The a rogue general, a disfigured mob boss, gun slinging mariachi, and what ever the hell johnny depp ended up being, eyeless sunglasses wearing funny evil/good cia agent with his child sidekick??with a fake third arm???guy??? It reminded me of the Preacher comic.
At least Robert Rodriguez didn't have to hold Quentin Tarantino's hand making this one.

Agreed. His list of bizzare roles goes on and on. My favorite is actually The Ninth Gate even though I was probably one of the all three people who watched it.

Then that makes the 5 of us (I dragged a g/f with me).

one of Roman Polanski's lesser known movies (but I'll be damned if it didn't have a neat premise). Seing Julie Delpy is always a plus, too.

I haven't seen Cabin Fever yet, but I saw Once Upon A Time In Mexico.. and as entertaining as it was, I have seen zombie movies that were more realistic then that.

as for House Of 1,000 Corpses, I don't know why people talk so highly of that movie.. it was ok, but incredibly dorky and only a Rob Zombie fanboy would think it's great.
