Which "old" games surprised you when you tried out it recently?

Just wondering about this one.

Recently getting back my NeoCD, I had a chance to pick up some recent purchases. In a few of them, there were games which I remembered not leaving me with a good impression when they first came out.

One of them was Last Resort. When I popped this in the NeoCD, I remembered that I tried it briefly in an arcade and wrote the game off an unimpressive.

And now, 10 years or so later, I'm playing the game realizing just how good it actually is. :p They also put in some effort in the CD soundtrack.

I got AOF for $5 with my MVS cab and while I just kind of blew it off.. I've been having loads of fun with it. Sure it's not the best game on the system, but it's well worth the $5. I just get nostalgic for the old stuff :) .

I felt this way when I recently played Bravoman for NEC TG-16

although the graphics are nil the game is alotta fun and the bowls of engrish will keep you laughing for days .

not to mention the repititious cut scene between every level with the arch villan of the game stabing himself in the crotch with a nife chanting " I'm DR. Bomb "

Original Fatal Fury, I haven't played this game in years. I picked up an MVS cart the other day for $5 and it was well worth it, a very fun game.

Truly an old school classic :)

Beat Rise of the Triad for DOS a month ago. I didn't expect it to suck me back in when I fired it up again this week.

I didn't hate the game or feel it wasn't cool but I didn't expect it still that great after this long time

Tried out King of Fighters 94/95 on the Kawaks and it works great...

Maybe some other time I'll sample Fatal Fury Special and Art of Fighting 1 and 2 as well. :)

In my mind, it's definitively Last resort.
It's still impressiv after all these years.

Mega Man 1 for NES. It´s simply great and reminds me on my childhood. Those feelings, which come back when you just listen to the sound of the enemy-select-screen *aaaaaahhhh*

Recently I broke out my SMS and forgot how good Action Fighter was { spy hunter clone } as well as Castle of Illusions and Kenseiden.

Of course I had to play a few dozen games of Out Run and Super Hang-On as well as Space Harrier 3d.
