Any hope for SamSho5?

When I heard that SNK had folded up shop, I let out loud cry, for there was no Samurai Showdown sequel coming anymore.

This sucks, since a new KOF came out, and I heard SNK's properties were bought by some pachinko monster, is there any hope for Samurai 5? It would also be awesome if they decided to jump from the Neo hardware to Naomi (Neo is a bit long in the tooth)

They should have been doing Sam5 instead of that last blade garbage. Another Sam would blow GGX out of the water.

Last Blade is one of the best fighting games ever made. And with the players that would agree with me I can almost state that as a fact. But so is the Samurai Shodown series. So let's all hope for sequels to both.

SSV would be great--I actually have some ideas for characters that were originally for my Last Blade 3 idea...

A Colonial soldier with a cannon (with bayonet) for an arm. One of his POW specials could he that he runs through the opponent with the bayonet, then shouts "Checkmate!" and blasts the opponent, point-blank

Bring in some folks from SS64 and SS64II. Taisan would be great, as would Hanma/Karakuri.

maybe a Kusanagi, Kisaragi or Kim?

There were plans for Sam Sho 5 actually, but I am not sure about that.

But since 5 years have past since the 4th part I am very confident, because it is about time for a new episode!

I'd be happy with 2D versions of the 3D games, just release another Samurai game already!

A couple of weeks ago, MagicBox reported unconfirmed rumors about Sun Amusement planning an arcade release of Samurai Spirits 5 during 2002... Don't know if on MVS, Crystal or else...

Well, I guess I was a little outrageous on that LB comment. It is just that I found the characters forgettable, and the combo system kinda bad too (though it has been quite some time since I played it, I can't even remember what it is). Just wasn't my cup of tea I guess.

I havent been able to find SS64 or SS64 2 anywhere. Everytime I see a hyper Neo cabinet it has beast busters in it (which sucks).

Who exactly owns the rights to SamSho5? Is it possible for me to create a startup that can buy those rights and produce games?

YES!

Especially after seeing the designs in all the 3D shodowns (all 3), there was so much potential for the most beautiful 2D swordfighting game ever made.

If there was ever a game where i wouldn´t settle for less than the full kit, it would be lb3. I owe my interest in fightin games to that series.

That's good, because it's a very good series. But I've been playing SS for a long long time. Since I was a little kiddo. So Last Blade is complementary to me, not supplementary.

I want SS5

I would like LB3

Truth be told, I'd want both as well as a Samurai Shodown vs Last Blade style game!

My first fighting game ever was SS1. I still remember to this day the look on my opponents face when I sent his earthquake flying in two halfs. I had no idea what I did, but I was hooked.

Would it be sacriledge if it came out for non-Neo arcade hardware? The Naomi seems to have a good distribution (not as good as the MVS, though the MVS machines are slowly being tucked away). I see Capcom vs SNK everywhere.

My appetite could have been sated a bit if Capcom had decided to include Galford (or at the very least Hanzo) in CvS 1 or 2.
