Since the KOF2k1 boot discussion came along. I decided to opened up and check every MVS cart that I have. They all seems original BUT the KOF 99 cart has serials scratched from the sticker. I mean, they were there but someone remove them. Anyone know what it means? Btw, the color of my cart is clear blue.

Scratched out serial numbers are common on MVS carts. I have quite a few like that. The only reason I can think of for the situation is that by removing the serial numbers, the person doing so erases the "history" of where that cart was originally sold, or the channels it went through. It doesn't at all indicate that the games are boots . . . there are many such games with "stripped serial numbers" on the market.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking the same thing (that it was a legit copy but the serial were removed to protect something or someone). I even thought it could be a stolen cart but then again, how in the world you steal a MVS Cart unless you work for a distributing company?
