Hi!

I'm an Italian NeoGeo fan since the very first day ogf our beloved SNK machine, but I came up just recently in getting a job and the money to start my own homecart collection.

Now, while I'm sercing the whole net to find out the best AED JPN sources (I'm interested ONLY in theese ones), I've piled some question that are drivin me crazy.


A) About the seal stickers.
When were they abandoned? Say, till when they were used?
A reliable NEoGeo faq say till Gekka no Kenshi (LAst Blade).
Was that the last game with seal or the first one without it?
Or do you think this information is incorrect?

2) About the gold warning label
Same here. When they started to be used? Are there any exceptions?

3) About KOF98
We all know that cart came with an extra sketch book, but... what about the original plastic baggie dotation? A single, big baggie (Someone say so). Two different baggies? (may be, but strange). Anyone can state that FOR SURE?

OK, that's enough for now, I hope someone would help me to throw away my madness!

About Gold Sticker I think SNK strated in 1996 to put them on carts.

That's all I know. About Seal Sticker I don t know nothing but I watch reply cause it s interseted me.

Good luck with your collection.

the seal stickers,

I believe they simply 'ran out', I have heard this many times.

About the Seal Stickers, SNK used them until they finished; they didn't bother putting more of these since most of the carts were kept in like new conditions.
About the gold warning sticker, SNK begun to use around the same time of the snaplock cases, they ran out of these too (recent releases MS3 and Sengoku 3 don't have them).
About KoF '98, i don't know... can't tell for sure...

I believe the stop using seal stickers when they start using Clamshell casing.

Gold Warning Label:

For home cart, I'm sure it's Art of Fighting 3, which was released April 1996. The games prior to this have no warning stickers such as Neo Turfmasters, Chibimaruko Chan Delux Quiz, and Real Bout. On MVS cart, it's a tough call since I have seen one as early as late 1995 like Super Dodgeball, I'm not sure when this game came out. But after KOF2000, SNK ran out of the sticker label.


Seal sticker:

The clam shell case still used the sticker, on games after Last Blade, they simply put a tiny Neo-Geo logo at the opening of the case.

Mmmh...

That's sound odd... I've seen brand-new copies of KOF99 or MOTW or KOF2000 with no stricker at all, not the old one nor the 'tiny logo' you said.

Anyone know for sure?

Somewhere after 1996 they stopped using sealing stickers, since i got some games from 1996 that still have them on the box.
And games from 1997 that didn't have them at all when they we're newly released.

Quando ho letto 'un'altro italiano' nel tuo primo post, con l'apostofo, pensavo a un americano/inglese che avesse studiato l'italiano. :-)))

Ad ogni buon grado, grazie per il benvenuto.
La mia sign e' sempre quella, la uso un po' ovunque (e in inglese anche nel mio default mail, per ragioni di lavoro).

Quanto al mio essere in Dynamic Italia, e' una stretta appartenenza biunivoca.
Sono in Dynit da prima di Dynit.
Forse e' un po' piu' che un lavoro ^^

Quanto alle mie richieste, sono un perfezionista tanto nelle cartucce NeoGeo che compro quanto nei copioni che scrivo, e' la mia natura.

I bought the cart new in Japan at that time and it had the small baggie for the manual and no baggie for the sketch book. So if the
dealer didn`t mess around with it which I do not think (Japanese are honest people) that`s it.

Btw: I got a question too - am too lazy to go through the master list right now: <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

What was the first game coming with the "small" manual?

I think it was KoF `94 - am I right?

The KOF98 is driving me crazy.

Someone says brand new carts came with one big baggie for both books.

Someone says books came each with a different baggie.

Someone says Sketck book came with no baggie at all.

Another reliable source, say !ARCADE!, says the sealing stickers disappered from brand new carts someway 'ramdomly' in the 96, not starting chronologically from a certein unique cart.

And then, there are also those little NeoGeo logo stickers sometimes.

my my my! I will be soon go mad!

I bought my US kof 98 brand new, direct from the importer.
It came with a baggie for the manual and no baggy for the booklet...

Del resto hoiniziato a collezionare le AES solo dallo scorso autunno, e come mio solito, amo documentarmi appieno.

Just bought a brand new KOF 98. Only had one baggie for the manual no baggie for the art book.

I got my copy of KoF '98 from SNK USA in the same format. Baggie for the manual, No baggie for the art book..
