Lousy eBay Experience

Well, it was bound to happen. I hooked up with a bit of a loser on eBay. I took a shot hoping that perhaps that the guy actually had a complete Bust-A-Move Again MVS setup for sale or at least what he said he had to be accurate. No luck, not even the extras were completely Bust-A-Move Again nor were they new. To make matters worse the guy shipped the cart in the MVS box. It is ruined and utter garbage now. And finally, the cart itself --- Bust-A-Move --- does not work properly, even after repeated cleanings.

I figured worse case was that I would get a new Bust-A-Move Again box with all of the extras and a new Bust-A-Move MVS cart. No dice. I have asked the seller for a full refund. We'll see. <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">

I did not. I figured the $8 shipping I paid would cover something like a box or something. I once had a guys send me a NEO*GEO CD system in its box with my address and postage pasted on it. Even more bizarre was that there was that the box flaps where not sealed and there was no packing material in the box. The system worked but it ws beatup. I guess this is a lesson learned. Maybe I'll at least get a refund... we'll see.

$8 shipping? Heh. From the looks of your pic it only cost him like 5.05? I could understand a little extra for packing materials but, uhm, what packing materials?

Just to tell you, the MVS cart in the ebay auction was modified whit photoshop or another program. If you look in the right corner you will see white, thats not suposed to be there probably hiding the serial number.

On Dec-18-01 at 19:51:49 PST, seller added the following information:
I believe this to be the complete kit as stated, BUT, The cartridge itself has "Bust A Move" on it, not "Bust A Move Again" . I don't have a Neo Geo to plug it into anymore. I believe it to be new NOS. All the extras that are in box say Bust A Move Again, and the Box does too, thanks.

You got stolen hehe...

Hey Tiptonium, sorry to hear about your problem. Of all the MVS carts I bought off Ebay (and there have been quite a few), I've only had ONE shipped in the original box. After that I always asked sellers to make sure they shipped the boxed MVS cart in another box. It certainly ruins the collectors value of the original kit . . . and the fact that the cart doesn't work is really pathetic.

At least the seller has a solid feedback rating, and I would guess he'll stand behind the transaction. If I were you, I'd return the cart for a full refund, and if he won't do that (which I seriously doubt based on his 143 positives and no negs), you'll just have to leave him a neg. Good luck and let us know what happens . . .

There is a way to remove the sticker from the box, but I forget who was telling me how. Maybe they will see this post. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I've removed postal stickers off boxes very carefully with a hair dryer, but I am sure you are going to return it right?

It can de done with steam from the spout of a kettle, it loosens the adhesive and it should come off without damaging the box, but why go to the trouble, send it back and demand a refund. This guy obviuosly couldnt give a shit.

Unfortunately, the guy wapped the box with clear packaging tape two times around the box. That did not show up in my picture.

... still no word from the seller.

That's messed up. I can't believe some people would be so careless as to even ship something like that. I had one bad shipping experience sort of like that.

Larry, That game has been on a shelf for a long time. I stated the differences in the name, and included picture of item for sale. I used to operate these relics, I had no idea the blank cardboard box was collectible, seems like a blank box to me with a label on it. Thanks for sending me the description back, which says " I Believe it to be complete kit as stated, BUT,, Did you read that when I said "BUT". That's why I described it that way, because I DIDN'T KNOW what it was.I don't know how I could have made it any clearer than that. Also, if you are very knowledgeable with these games, why didn't you ask me about serial numbers, and such things? Read the description again, was there something dishonest in it? Absolutely NOT. The legitimate problem we have is that you say the game does not work. If this is true, your money will be refunded. Return it to me, I will Paypal you the funds for shipping, I will have to take cartridge to another operator up in the hills from here who probably still has one of these machines to test it. NOTE: My issue is that he listed the items as new yet the cart shows "use wear," it does not work properly and the extras are not what I'd call new nor are they in their baggies.

And to put an end to this story...

We finally worked things out. It took some less than friendly emails but I got my money refunded and I have returned the junk to the seller.

I always feel kind of sad when I receive Mvs carts in their original boxes with tape on them. Sometimes I don't expect them to have the box and when they do it sucks. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">
