Good points BryLmoo. I preorderd KOF2K1 already from the Neo store, since its pretty apparent that Shawn will be the only one to carry the English version of this cart. And I always prefer English versions if I can get them, although I do have a fair number of JPN carts in my collection . . .

I had preordered the KOF2K1 from NCS originally, when they first announced the release. However, they have not closed preorders, or made their final quantity order with their distributor, so I cancelled my order with NCS and shifted it to the Neostore (no harm to NCS at this early stage, and I certainly would never want to screw NCS over after all the great transactions I've had with them).

Its clear that at this point NCS will not carry the English cart (unless they order a batch from Shawn), and I always prefer the English version as mentioned previously. i just think it's weird, i think they still have on their website that they are taking pre-orders for the english version.

Unless they order English carts from Shawn, they won't be getting the English version in. From what I understand, there won't be an "Asian English" version, only a JPN and regular English one. Rather than keep my preorder in with NCS on this cart and risk their getting only the JPN one, I just cancelled and shifted my order to the Neostore. And as I said before, since NCS hasn't closed preorders yet, confirmed a final price, or made their bulk order to their distributor, it doesn't hurt them to cancel now.

I've pre-ordered many times from NCS in the past, and never backed out . . . since they've always been very cool about it. The only one I sort of backed out on was Sengoku 3, but I clearly told them I wanted the English version, and they claimed there would be only a JPN release.

Since the English one did come out from the Neostore, I cancelled my preorder for the JPN Sengoku 3 cart and picked up the English one from Shawn. However, that was well before the S3 cart shipped from NCS so I don't think it caused them any problems . . .

I'll stick with my NCS preorder. What Chimp's doing is cool in my eyes but I believe in the handshake obligation, and NCS has never done me dirty. Plus, I think they'll get English versions of the cart in one way or the other. I have faith in that, just like I did that the cart would come out when almost everybody was lamenting the home release's fate <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">.

And if it ends up being a JAP cart I get, no biggie. I'm a collector, but as long as I have the game I'm a happy guy in the end.
