Plisken:
Does anyone know the name/composer of the song Kruaser plays on the Stroheim Castle Organ at the start of the film? Thanks.
The title of that Track is "Teiou I ~ Yabou" -- there are 2 other reprises of this theme: "Teiou II ~ Kako" and "Teiou III ~ Requiem." Teiou I is the track you're referring to. Teiou II is found later in the film, and does not use an organ in its instrumentation. Teiou III brings the organ back for the final reprise toward the end of the film. "Teiou" means "emperor," "yabou" means "ambition," and "kako" means "past." The entire score of this film (with the exception of the ending theme, "CALLING," by ZI:KILL) was composed and arranged by Sahashi Toshihiko. He also composed/arranged the score for THE MOTION PICTURE Garou Densetsu (aka, Fatal Fury The Motion Picture). While he did not work on the score for the first FF anime (most of that film's soundtrack was handled by Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan, the band that produced the soundtracks for SNK's NEO-GEO games throughout the 1990's), Sahashi did compose/arrange the 2 vocal themes found in that first film.
In addition to the FF anime trilogy, Sahashi has also worked on a number of my favorite Japanese TV series: GEAR Fighter Dendoh, THE Big-O, Ultraman Gaia, Seijuu Sentai Gingaman (known in the U.S. as Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy), and Cutey Honey F, as well as the drama CD, "CD Drama Ranmaru XXX" (based on the softcore hentai manga Ranmaru XXX, itself a spinoff of the softcore hentai manga Ogenki Clinic).
