I was playing Fatal Fury the other day over my friends house and I noticed that in the background for Billy Kanes stage there is a red pick-up truck w/ "bauhaus". Now since there are no structures on the stage, Im assuming (and hoping) that this is in reference to the amazing band. Does anyone know for sure?

The original 'Bauhaus' was a German Art/ Architetcure/ Design collective that was active in the 1930's or so... It could be referring to that.

Who knows, it could also be referring to the band.

Japanese people often use an English or other foreign language words because they like the way it looks or sounds. That's one of the reasons why there are so many goofy product names.

There's also a good chance it might not be referring to anything at all.

There's a reference to JOY DIVISION in the Ghost Town stage in FF3; it says, well, JOY DIVISION.

Ahhhhhh your shiting me!!! I can't stop listening to Joy Division after seeing 24 Hour Party People a couple of weeks ago. I had never heard of Joy Division before, and now I'm hooked.

Guess I have to fire up Fatal Fury 3 this weekend to see this little "Joy Division" easter egg you speak of. Where in the stage is it?

I was big into both Joy Division and Bauhaus in the '80's. I seriously doubt they are band references in either case, however. Given the weird Engrish sayings out there, "Super Mega Happy Fun Club", etc., "Joy Division" is probably just something that was put in there by accident. There is a furniture manufacturer named "Bauhaus" that has been around for a while, too, which is another possible explanation for that reference.

Joy Division was the top Manchester band fronted by Ian Curtis, which became New Order after his suicide.

Joy Division and New Order are both phrases used in Nazi Germany - I think Joy Division was the term given for Jewish women who were kept for use by the guards / german officers in concentration camps. A New Order would arise after the Third Reich's victory in WWII.

There ya go !

These women were not Jewish, but you're right, most concentration camps had these 'special barracks'.

At the time Joy Division came to life, it was stylish to play around with Nazi symbols and names. Laibach would be another example of such a group that still is totally, utterly misunderstood in that perspective.

If we could somehow time warp a Neo and a copy of KOF 98 back to Ian's flat in the days before he hanged himself, well, let's just say that modern electronic dance music as we know it would be no more.

Somehow I can't see a still living early 1980's Ian Curtis being receptive to all the synths and drum machines.

The power f the Neo....

Why? I openly admit to listening to Joy Division, just listened to Still today in fact. One of the best bands ever.

Interesting point here. In the late 70's early 80's many bands took heat for Naziish symbolism. The most notables being Siouxsie and the Banshees. Banshees w/ Robert Smith= buttrock
