I rarely see any descent arcade place nor Neo machine in Dallas areas.

For the past 8 years in Dallas I only see
- ultracade "Striker 1945 Plus" at Sack-n-Sav
- Metal Slug cab at Pizza Hut
- Metal Slug 3 and KOF2k2 at Cyber Zone in Valley View Mall

That's about it....

Game World at Grapevine Mall sux big time. No fun at all....... frown

There's a used book/ comic/ video game chain in Japan called 'Book Off'.

The one close to my apartment in Koriyama had five candy cabs lined up beside each other in the videogame section... all of them were SNK games. They changed the games about every six months or so, but again, each time a game was changed it would be to another SNK one.

First of all it was wierd seeing these cabs in a videogame store (I haven't seen them in any stores in Tokyo), and it was great that they were all SNK...

Last time I went it was something like KOF2001, KOF2002, ROTD, SS4...

wait a minute... Liquid, you live in Irving?

If you do, go check out "Animation Town" at the Irving Mall. It sounds like the best arcade in Texas to me! It has a shitload of Neo-Geo games (including Shock Troopers :D although it's possible they've switched it out for another game by now, sigh), lots of fighting games on big screens, imported Japanese games, plenty of Bemani games like DDR Extreme and Beatmania IIDX 8th Style... it sounds sooooo good.

I saw a post on another message board that listed a lot of the games the arcade has, I'll have to try to find it

Chuck Clown runs the store. I did a deal with him this past winter for some Neo Geo games. He has a nice new store in Irving Mall. I might go take a look myself one of these days. :)

I thought it was "autobotclown" that owned the place, not chuckclown.

Anyways, I found a list of games off an old DDR Texas post. It's not 100% complete as these are apparently the games they had when they first opened, and of course they've gotten other stuff since then, maybe gotten rid of a few... but anyways. Sounds pretty descent (errrrr, decent) to me. wink

Irving Mall? 5 min away from my office and 10 min away from my house.

I don't like Irving Mall that much. Are you talking about that game room behind a video/audio store (I forgot the name)? I don't remember seeing any good game when I was there two weeks ago. I will go there tomorrow after work for sure.

Hey, come to Dallas. Really want to see you finish Shock Troopers with one credit. Or maybe MERCS *cough* :D

I'm not sure where in the mall it is, I just know it's in there and opened up a few months ago. I just hear all these raves about it since it's a real GAMER'S arcade, without any of that kiddie redemption shit and whatnot. It has all those Neo-Geo's, and it sounded like you were looking for Neo-Geo games to play, so...

It's more than an 8-hour drive for me... :( Maybe for the big DDR tournament this summer, I dunno. I'm thinking about it. I'm pretty rusty at MERCS though. :D
