Finally actually got to play this game today. I stopped by a movie theater to pick up some tix for the Matrix and bam it was sitting in there in a 4 slot cab with KOF99, MS3, and SamSho 3 (an odd mix if you ask me). I was totally got to try this and see if its as good as everyone says it is, and oh god yes it is. I put in about a dollar into before I had to tear myself away and run some other errands. They game is just plain raw fun. Now I gotta to see if I can scrounge of $700+ for this masterpiece glee I probably should just get a Phantom-1 and the MVS instead though.

Edit: Grammar

I have to agree, I was totally surprised at how much I love this game! I played almost nothing but fighters when I got my neo, now I'm finding out about all the great games I've been missing.

Turf Masters is a MUST HAVE for having friends over.

I have a complete MVS kit on eBay of this game. Don't worry though, I doubt it will sell as it's 1 of my favorite Neo games. I just put a ridiculous price on it, lol.

Neo Turf Masters buttrock buttrock buttrock !!!

I only have the Neo Geo Pocket version of this game. I liked it, considering it was a pocket game. But best of all, you get to play against your favorite SNK mascots. :) Even with the powers of Wind, Goenitz has nothing on my Golf game. Take that with your Ko ko desu ka! :)

Classic moments in Turf Masters history:

When the announcer yells "GET IN!!" as your ball is just coming to a complete stop about 2 yards from the hole.

I really wish there was an option in this game to mess with the weather.. Playing with the 10+ winds can be interesting. Maybe this is possible via the AES debug bios switches, anyone know?

On the GWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!
LOL..My 2 yr old son(Chris1)says "On the GWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN" when he hears it while I'm playing the game.

I love this game,..I still haven't taken it out of the cab since I got it...It may just remain there..
It's pure fun to play..

Yeah, totally agreed! I didn´t ever play Golf-games, but NTM is really fun. The suitable BGM, cute comments - and the nice courses (especially OUR Baden ^_^ ). I bought the MVS-kit awhile ago, and I´m starting to play it a little bit harder to beat my opponents on the forum-clashes *hrhrhr*

I dont think thats an odd mix at all. It appeals to everyone. Say one guy doesnt dig fighters. Or one guy prefers Weapon based fighters to standard. I defy you to find someone who doesnt enjoy something that cab has to offer.

NTM is the best golf game I have ever played(The NGPC version was also good). I used to put tons of money into my local comic shop's NTM. It's just amazing(I want to get it for my Neo CD)... I really wish a sequel would be made, if anything needs a sequel it's NTM.

NTM is a definite must own if you have a Neo ! A great non golf fan friendly game that is actually enjoyable, which is pretty rare. My personall favorite is bye far Golden Tee though.
Tiger Woods is decent for a console game ,but isnt anything I havent played before as golf games go. But then again its Golf ,either its decent or its totall shit ! Some games like NTM just have more appeal than others I think.

I love Turfmasters but it dosen't even come close to GoldenTee. GoldenTee is the ultimate bar game. A few buddies and I can drop $10 easy in a night on GoldenTee.

Golden Tee is definitely the shit too, especially after a few brews. but no space for a Golden Tee cab right now. How much do they go for?

NTM is a good break from GT though.

Golden Tee seems to be alot like NFL Blitz price wise , depending on the year the price goes up and people tend to over inflate the price waaayyy to much for a game that is esentually a copy of the previous years game. But remember dumb people buy games on ebay and operators know this all too well.

I have personally been quoted 2-300.00for a full kit of Golden Tee 99 and about 5 to 700.00 full cab , and the price drops as the year does as well.
Blitz is much the same way,an Op buddy of mine recently had a cherry 4 player Blitz 98 gold or some crap like that for a whole 400.00 , jerkoffs on ebayhave been asking outragous prices like 750.00 to 1100.00 for the exact same game.

I love Turf Masters on the Neo, I'm trying to get hold of the MVS as we speak! Just got a copy of Turf Masters for the NGPC and that is also amazing. I can't believe how a like the two versions are (graphics aside)!

Golden Tee was also released for the PC. That's the version I have. It uses the mouse for the trackball, but if you have one of those trackball mice instead of the standard ones, it'll feel closer to the original.

But yeah, Golden Tee kind of became a big mainstay at the bars and entertainment centers. Those crazy 400+ yard drives, the super luck shots one may get by reflecting a shot off an obstacle. However, Julians replaced it with Midway's new over-the-top golf game, more recently. (One of the reasons I went looking for the PC version) I'm still on the jury as to whether that was a good idea. I mean, the idea is similar, and yeah, it has the ability to select between two different playstyles.

Someone mentioned that Neo Turf Masters had random contests that popped up from time to time. Longest Drive, closest to pin. That's actually a really cool idea. I noticed that this was one thing the pocket version didn't have. I guess it would award the winner with something extra like the ability to play extra holes?
