I have the chance to get PI2, is it a good game? And is it worth the £150 he's asking?

PI2 is different from the other shooters I played on Neo. You have know helicopters and you need to rescue people while destroying all the dinosaurs.
It's made by the company who created Blazing star and it shares the same good and bad points at my opinion.
Does it worths 150£? refers to the price guide

this is one of those games i slated but have grown quite fond of it

the games itself is alrite - huge bosses and some nice effects

you fly a helicopter and save people - when you drop them off onto a chinook you get loads of power ups thrown at you - the more you save the better the power up

its was a joint venture between yumekobo and saurus, normally saurus games are shite (couple not included shocktroopers series) but i guess Yumekobo's greatness must have rubbed off onto them :)

I can't believe I saw a converted copy of PI2 sold on Ebay for $560 recently. Is that a record high price for a converted cart?

I only played it on da romz 4 a short period only to see what people were bitching about (it's hailed as one of the worst shooters on the Neo) and I honestly could not see what all the gribe was about.

It's kinda cool and kinda fun although I fucking hate digitized graphics. That's the only thing that kept it from complete ownage. Has a cholifter feel to it since you have to save people.

Pretty cool and very undeserving of all the shit it takes.

believe it or not its quite an expensive game to convert

plus arcade only did 50 of them in snaplocks, others were in old style cases and unnumbered :)

In one word: Yes. To me it`s as good if not better than Blazing Star, just a little too short.

Btw: Wasn`t !Arcade`s! original price even $750 for the PI2 conversion?

I didn't like it too much. Graphics is real good but the chopper is just too big. :)

Tis a fantastic little shooter :)

A bit short, but nevertheless great fun to play. Loads of power ups, tons of bonus and combos to do for high score junkies, and two choppers (oooer) to choose from. Some strategy to follow too in places if you're trying to rescue people.

The rendered graphics put some people off, 'cause I guess it's not what you're used to seeing on the Neo. Some ace lighting effects, tons of sprite scaling, lots of detail... shame it doesn't get the credit it deserves :(

Correct if I'm wrong someone, but the mvs cart is quite rare, (especially after !Arcade! bought a lot for its conversions), so if you like quality shooters snap it up before it's gone :)

BTW, it's got a don soundtrack too, and some great sound effects... yup, I'm a big fan of PI2 :D
Give it to me any day over Pulstar.

Oh, yeah, I like Andro Dunos too.

I like this game, and Andro Dunos...they're both great!

Pulstar is still leagues ahead :)

Regardless, I snagged !ARCADE!'s conversion; its a thing of beauty. The thing is, the game is bipolar....

Some levels look beautiful, others look undeniably embarrassing.

Still, good fun!

It looked cool. Consider the cost involved, art etc. and that ain't so bad. I guess eBay doesn't mind. wink

weird... I like Andro Dunos too for some reason wink

but anyways, about Prehistoric Isle 2. it's okay, but it's WAAAAYYYY too easy. By like my second game of it I'd reached the last boss on one credit. The next time I played it I finished it. It's not even that difficult to finish it without losing a life, and getting the maximum bonuses by beating the bosses while carrying the hostages (you get less points if you dock with the rescue helicopter before the boss, but you get power-ups instead). So it didn't really have any long-term replay value for me. Not something I would pay a lot of money for

It's ass. I have no idea why it didn't become a lost proto. It would have been so much more charming that way.
