Ive had this agme forever it seesm and decided to bung it on today for no reason.

It seems no one mentions this game ever, you see talk of Trash Rally, Mutation Nation n the likes but never this.

The main striking feature of this game is its lush visuals , when i got it i was amazed and it looks very vibrant still. The level of deatil is rokkin, easily one of the sweetest looking games of its time.

Only gripe is that this cd version has infinite credits, and the game has no replay value, but it does have some cool features, and can even be seen as a pre cursor to metal slug.

Anyone else enjoy top hunting??

I love Top Hunter. I remember buying it and Spinmasters when they were released right around the same time. Excellent graphics and great gameplay. I wish Playmore would make a sequel to either of these games...

I mention this game every chance I get. I love this game, it is alot more fun when you have another person playing along side with you... I must have finished this game about 20 times with a friend but still find new ways to kill things quicker/more coordinated attacks, etc.

Top Hunter is tops in my book! :D

Top Hunter is a game with very nice graphics for a `94 title - especially the wind boss background - but its gameplay is sooooo lame, imo it`s one of the most boring Neo titles, it`s just lacking that something special that many other Neo games have.

No way in Hell it has lame gameplay. It has superb graphics coupled with excellent gameplay. Playing it in 2 Players, as it was meant to be played (like Spinmasters), it's a extremely cool game.

Hey yeah, i wouldnt ever call the gameplay lame, the ability to stretch your arms and perform SF2 style fireballs etc..... lend to some fum playing.

It's just that the four worlds dont last too long and upon playing through again seem boring as hell.

For an action jump`n`run TH is extremely low paced and the attack patterns are boring/flawed since neither you can beat opponents up real bad (lack of animation frames) nor is the stupid "grab and throw away"-move any fun imo. Also it lacks surprising events and gameplay variety. Just to think of those uninspired lousy bonus stages - I won`t even bother going into them any more so boringly they are presented and play themselves. Not to forget the same two silly pirate bosses you encounter in every world. Ah well ...

Some people treat Top Hunter like it doesn't count as a Neo Geo game, since it isn't a fighter.

I personally love it. Stretching arms=Genius.

The ability to pick up and throw enemies, the multi-planar worlds, Terry Bogard special moves, HUGE enemies (weremonkey in fire world caves) make show off everything the NEO GEO is about.

Fav level is the wind planet. Having to compensate for the wind with your movement adds extra challenge.

If I could add one thing it would be the ability to choose who you play as.

I've heard that when you get three power ups you can do Ryo's Ryuku-ranbu super. Can anyone verify this?
