I just won the board set to convert one of my cabs from a tetris to a neo-geo, and it occured to me that other people might want to see the process step-by-step for turning a cheap random cabinet into a neo-geo.

I plan to wire everything into a new Jamma harness, so it should show every connection one would need to make in order to take any cab with a standard monitor and make it into a MVS.

I probably won't get to this project for another month or two, but if you guys want to see everything from sanding and painting, to controller drilling and wiring, let me know.

I would, it'd give me on some closure on just what happened to my cab, formerly Omega Race.

Other things I need to do for closure:
Play Omega Race (for real and not on teh r0mzz)
Meet the guy who did the conversion

Supposedly that cab is rare, and I wanna know why someone would completely change something so valuable. But, everything gets sacrificed for the neo.

Here is an idea. Why not ask Shawn to post your info onto the site as a cab converting tutorial?

I'd love to see this. I'm in the process of converting my first cabinet to neo right now.

m_bishop: How much was it to ship the candy cab in your sig to State College? Or did you get it from somewhere other than Arcade-Infinity?

That is a stunning Idea! the more detail the better. Personally the wiring of a JAMMA harness would be of particular use to me but work on the controller overlay /making that section look good would be very cool as well!

I started this same project, but have not finished it yet. Here are the first two parts; Building the power supply board and wiring the Jamma harness.

I have the control panel done, I just need to post the pics and then finish the cab.

m_bish0p: I would be happy to host your project when you get it done. Also - let me know if you are interested in getting rid of the Tetris game.

It cost me almost 300 to have shipped if I remember correctly, and it was from arcade-infinity. If you look through the back posts, I was crying about it a little when It got to my door because they quoted me less than half of that. I'm sure it was just a mis-understanding though, and I'm not saying anything bad about arcade-infinity, I would use them again...just be wary of the shipping.
