He doesn't look much like Takuma though... especially the hair... Why couldn't they pick Mr. Big? He's a far more worthy choice from the AoF series imho...

Mr.Karate is a BAD MOFO that SNK dropped the ball on!!! Rather than revealing his identity they should have kept his identity a mystery sorta like a RACER-X type persona but instead he was revealed to be Takuma Sakazaki,father of RYO and Yuri. Hey,did'nt Rugal follow in Geese's footsteps by putting some magical spell on KYO's father?? :rolleyes:

Mr.Karate is a BAD MOFO that SNK dropped the ball on!!! Rather than revealing his identity they should have kept his identity a mystery sorta like a RACER-X type persona but instead he was revealed to be Takuma Sakazaki,father of RYO and Yuri. Hey,did'nt Rugal follow in Geese's footsteps by putting some magical spell on KYO's father??

Kinda like dramatic irony? I guess it would have been cool and expected of SNK.

How many other companies do you know that has a consistancy of a universe like SNK does? Granted, it can be loose and silly, but its still damned cool and it spans for years and years into the past and future, detailing generations of characters....

Ahh, one of the reasons I love SiNK so much.

I remember playing him for the first time and my jaw dropping. He was faster, had less recovery time on his moves, and wore a dope mask. I think this is so cool that they're bringing him back as Mr. Karate. Hopefully they totally revamp him to be a super badass like Gouki.

Ahh, one of the reasons I love SiNK so much.

MR.Karate's persona was cut too short.I would'nt have mind if the fans knew who he was but not have it revealed in a storyline.His legend would be on par with Gouki's making the battle between the two more EPIC.

not sure but I think he appears in Fatal Fury Special and Wild Ambition (finish the game without loosing any rounds, I think). in Art of Fighting 1, he is the last boss and appears to be Takuma at the ending

In Fatal Fury Special and Wild Ambition that would be Ryo Sakazaki.I don't know what happened to the KOF sprite incarnation but the FFSPECIAL look is good and FFWA look is too cool.
I was hoping with SvC CHAOS that SNK would use their updated characters that appear to have a more masculine maturer look...KYO,RYO,TERRY.
I truly hope they wake up and buy a clue...

I remeber the one who appears in FF:WA called Mr.Karate but he looks and plays like Ryo. not sure about FF:Special though

Yes. You're right about FFWA.It's been quite awhile since I've played it but his title was MR.Karate and it probably was him given the timeline of the game (The 1st(?) KOF tournament)which would explain the beard and resemblance to Ryo.I still can't see how Mr.Karate is who we now know as the "very plain" Takuma.

i read up on takuma's story and it said that he went to southtown to stop geese. when he confronted him. geese held yuri hostage and forced takuma to work for him. so as not to dishonor his name geese gave him a bird/tengu mask. then geese took off and had mr. big run things for short time and mr. big order him as his right hand man.
