For a laugh, check out this auction:

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3532840936&category=187" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3532840936&category=187</a>

I think the seller's trying to be facetious, but then again, maybe they're serious. I stumbled across this while checking the going rate for Phantom Ones on eBay, because I'm seriously thinking about auctioning mine off. I never, ever use the thing.

Someone should change the Item Description to read:

Welcome to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. From his experience on the football field, Doug Flutie understands the importance of support and teamwork. Doug and his wife Laurie started "Dougie's Team" in 1998 to honor their son Doug Jr., who has autism, and to help other families facing childhood autism through support and education.

We are also discussing it here:

<a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=020597" target="_blank">http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=020597</a>

I agree it can't be Winston, he's way smarter than that.

The seller registered in Singapur, but that auction says it's in USA... I saw his recent trades and appearently he uses to buy and sell clothes (selling from... London). There's something very fishy in that ebay account...

I still think there's no way Winston can be behind that retarded auction description.

It's Winston Goh, I know him (he made my supergun and told me about his ebay sales). Probably a joke, or just a bit of bad English on his behalf.

Edit: and yes, he sells clothes together with his girlfriend. I repeat: IT IS WINSTON!!!!

Definately if it is really him he's been drinking too much or that is a joke of some sort... I'll e-mail him anyway just to check it.

I wonder how long it'll be before !Arcade! comes along and has eBay put the kibosh on this auction.

Should it be his account, it could still be his girlfriend or someone else using it. Some people do share after all.

Oh well, I've e-mailed Winston and in fact he is behind that "auction"... His objective is to reveal the pin-out and characteristics of the Phantom in order to be able to make homemade ones, and reveal the info so anybody with the required knowledge can make his own one.

However I'm still wondering why he decided to post an auction like this... If he needs help there are better places and ways to ask for it. Just my opinion.

Yup, very odd indeed. Why would he post it on ebay?

Why doesn't he just ask Chris Ray? Chris knows how the Phantom is made, and could easily verify how it works.

I doubt he'd post here because people will just flame him, but if someone want to politly email him, maybe he'd tell you the pin out and configuration.

Just a suggestion.

Very intersting reading . . .

Quote from the description:

"so I got one thank to Nathan and making a AES for him that play both mvs and aes cart for him."

I just wanted to let you know that I'm not the Nathan he's refering to in the auction. I don't even have a home cart system. Well, unless he was making something for me for free.

Regarding the stupid auction, I did not want to post here because looking at previous discussion on this topic, I would properly be flamed that all. I get some ideas and suggestion from ebay.

*sigh*, it is a sad fact that people with the knowledge would only want to keep it for their own selfish gain.

Yeah, the Nathan is not the Nathan here. Anyway, the phantom-1 still work althought the chip is exposed so no damage done.

At least now we know for every phantom-1 made, a cart is saced. And we know where the $269 we spend go in :-

1. Sac Cart
2. Cheapo Connectors
3. Epoxy

The Chip is mark Neo-CMC.

The black epoxy explain why !arcade! would recommend that your system slot be change and not their phantom-1 is faulty when the P-1 dun work. The black epoxy renkon the phantom-1 unrepairable or very difficult to repair.

Pulling and inserting the MVS cart also loosen the solder joint on the connector. They should have put a screw on it.
