I just got done reading a massive FAQ explaining the Fatal Fury storyline and it is a pretty cool story. After reading the story I liked it so much that I watched Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture. I wasn't too impressed with the movie but it wasn't horrible. I wanted some more Southtown action and I wanted Duck King to stop talkin and fight someone. Mai sure looked fine in the movie, although they did make her out to be stupid and ditzy which ruined her ninja image in my opinion. I loved the part where Terry goes to the Neo-Geo arcade and starts playin on a Neo Candy Cab. I just wish the movie would have stayed a bit closer to the storyline and been a bit more serious. I am not complaining though, it was cool to see all of the Fatal Fury characters in a movie together. Some of the fight scenes were pretty cool to watch as well.

This is off topic; the Fatal Fury movie has nothing to do with the Neo-Geo system. wink loco

(Actually, I think it's a really good thread)

Also, the Fatal Fury animes are not canon (IE: Not apart of the offical storyline.).

Geez, you had me going there for a second, I thought you were describing a live-action film.

Well, personally i like the first 2 OAV's much better. A lot more fighting, true to the premise of the videogames.

Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle is my favourite anime ever. They made Krauser just as brilliant as he is in the game. Even got some quality classical music in their as well. It's really bloody excellent.

A lot fo people diss the first OAV, i think it's superb. It is 12 years old, but Geese was still badass. 'You want the bitch,. you can have her! muwhahahaahah!' lol. Fighting scenes were quality as well.

Both of them reveal more of the Fatal Fury backstory, such as how Joe became friends with the Bogards and stuff, and how Terry learned to fight. It's all interesting stuff.

The motion picture is entertaining, but it's more like an Indiana Jones-type adventure with far less action, finding antient relics and the like. Not bad by any means, but i much prefer the first 2. You can get both on 1 dvd , it's called 'Double Impact' it's an official R1 release by pioneer. Unfortunately ebay is plastered with HK bootlegs of the same thing, go for the official release.

I have the Double Impact DVD and the Motion picture DVD. I got them both from Suncoast. How would I know if they were fake?

When I started watching the Fatal Fury movie I went into it thinking it will follow the Fatal Fury storyline. I didn't know that it would be a side story. This is the reason that I was a bit dissapointed by it after I watched it. Can I find these two Fatal Fury movies that you are talking about in the US and on DVD format?

The Motion Picure has all the best fight scenes. The characters perform their specials more often and the character appearance is better. The first 2 animes only follow the storyline partially, but I don't think they're as good as the motion picture.

Anyway, was a Fatal Fury 3 anime every released? I know they purposely left room open for a 3rd installment, otherwise Geese wouldn't have made an appearance in the motion picture.

that's ok if you like 1 hit and the fight is over, but i like to see some good old pugalism. The fight between terry and krauser at the end of fatal fury 2 is better than any fight in the motion picture. of ocurse this is totally derivative depending upon your taste, but meh.

that's a big fat negative dude
i bought this on vhs in 1995 i was in eighth grade at the time. i was sick
and stayed home that day from school
i watched it cause i loved it and got to thinking i hope a sequel is in the works!
so i called vizvideo and spoke to the dude who made the decision to bring it to the states. i asked if a sequel was in the works and he said "NOPE"

i was like "are you serious?" he said yup no one has made a sequel and pointed that the Geese scene in the motin picture was to let everyone know that Geese was far from dead!

so for the past eight years i have been hopeing still to this day!

sucks!!!! :(

but te fatal fury's still are the best compared to every anime snk hosted!!

Does Mai wear skimpy clothing in the other two Fatal Fury animes like she does Fatal Fury the Motion Picture? :D
