Wow.

1,150,000 yen = $9,627.47

It looks like there was some bickering though, and now the auction was cancelled. The pic is down as well.

What exactly was this 'rare ROM set' being auctioned?

Unfortunately...no.
I didn't think it was necessary.
Obviously, it was the case.
I will try to find guys who saved the pictures.

I thought auction links were a no-no. Didn't Briggs get a Neo Geo sign pulled? (another one here that went much cheaper today http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d35066111 )

Check you internet temporary files, the pic may still be there. Try to acces that page while being off-line.

I pulled it myself after some complaints. There is no rule against it - but some feel that by posting an auction you invite more people to bid that may not have seen it and drive the price up.

Of course it does. It also gives people who want to bid a chance to do so. It's a double edged sword, it's gonna hurt some people to keep it secret, and hurt others to spread it around. Who do you want to protect?

Everyone wants a deal, sure, but what about the people who really really want the stuff and can't bid 'cause no one told them? The Neo "scene" is full of secret keeping and hoarding. I'm all for openness for a change.

Heh, you guys missed my post a few threads down, where I put up these pics before...

This was some auction.

If all those carts were mint/authentic, this would've been a hell of a deal. crying
