Funny you would mention that. I was standing in front of it and thinking how I liked the controler height, and that the monitor was higher and more in line with my sight.

If there were a monitor that is.

Where did you find it Briggs ?
Picked it up on eBay.

Funny thing was, the guy sent me the wrong cabinet. He had to pick up the one he sent and then send this one. I never saw the first one he sent as I had it shipped to a local business.

No way he made any money on this deal.

Ok thats a one hella ugly thing.
You gotta have vision.

What most people see as a gutted odd looking cab, I see as a dedicated MVS 2 slot gold cab that will soon be restored to it's original coolness.

Trust me.

Really can't wait to see what you do with this. And to think, it almost all started out as a dare.

Heh heh, I still find that funny. I look forward to seeing the end result.

Though you coulda kept the broken MVS board, cut a huge piece of paper for the marquee and write "NEOGEO" on it (have that guy from ebay.de help you), and have a super jalopy NeoGeo!

That really looks a lot like my cab. You should put up a section on HardMVS about restoring a cab, that's what I want to do but I don't know where to start...

I just recently gave up on my 3rd cabinet restoration. 2 is more than enough of F'n around. All I had left to do on it was electical and the control panel. The thing is I am tired of wasting time with monitors. I would have to hunt down and then probably repair a monitor (I am too cheap to buy new). I even went as far as to make a custom Sky blue for the paint job.

I am weak. Your Kung-Fu is stronger than mine Briggs. Good luck.

but i'm kind of interested as to why you would prefer to bondo stuff, like that control panel you restored rather than just making a new one. its all wood right? and isnt cutting a new piece of wood 100x easier than stripping, bondoing, and sanding?

I think that he is refeing to the sides. You are correct, but it is really hard to replace those sides, your better off just building one fron scratch if you go that far.

The bottems look pretty damaged, as well as right by the control panel. I think that this is what he is refering to. Bondo is much more sturdy and maleable (?sp?) than wood filler, especailly if you have to dremmel out a new t-molding grove.
