Holy shit! Duck King is hidden in the DC version of MOTW!

To select him, Beat the game with Hokutomaru on highest difficulty, win the 2nd round of every odd numbered match with a Light Kick, You cannot lose a round, and you must kill the end boss with a P Power on the first and 2nd rounds.

Then when the end credits are rolling, Hold DOWN on the D-pad, and press x,y,x,y,L,R,a,b then start.

You'll hear duck king say "All right!", and then when it asks you to save after the credits roll, he will be selectable off screen with Kain and Grant.

BTW this will only work on a modded asian dreamcast, it must be the 21 pin revision mod, the others won't work.

You must have 2 controllers plugged into the first two ports, the 2nd player controller must be smoke colored, plug a fishing reel into the 3rd and the samba marracas into the 4th, this is very important or it won't work. Also your DC must have a manufactor date of before March 1999.

What the fucks going on?I shell out more money on my mvs MOTW cart than a DC copy of MOTW and the inferior less expensive DC copy gets an extra hidden character, thats fair!!! <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0">

I actually have a friend that still believes Shen Long is hidden in Street Fighter 3! No joke.

The same people that think Noob Saibot and Reptile are still in MK 1, even though after all these years no ones found them.

Reptile on MK1 and Noob Saibot are no joke. Sheng Long on SF3 is a april fools joke. Remember the Sheng Long trick on the original Street Fighter 2 CE. Sheng Long means Dragon punch in chinese =p. Definitely not Gouken...

Last time in the old days, my friend and I were trying to get Sheng Long. We played Ryu and when the final round starts. Sheng Long didn't appear....

Later when Capcom made Super Street Fighter 2 X(turbo). The sheng long joke actually creates Akuma. It's true. it's damn true.

Reptile is in MK1.

Noob Saibot IS in MK2, 3 and 4

Also, keep this in mind...Ed Boon said (and I should kill myself for losing this article...I understand if you don't believe me), Ed Boon said that less than 70% of all the secrets in MK1 have been found.

I recall reading that originally, Liu Kang and Johnny Cage had 2nd fatalities (Liu Kang has a sword, Cage just kicks the opponant and he slams against the wall) as well as Shang Tsung having a fatality (also sword).

These moves are NOT, under any circumstance, accessable by playing the game, but they are included in the first revision of the game code (namely the animation assets and code to perform the move, but you CAN NOT activate the moves...don't try).

Just my little contribution.

Yea there was allot of stuff like that in MK 1, someone looked at the Hex code once, and found the name Noob Siabot in the code for the game, that's why many think he's in the game somewhere.

Ha ha ha. Yeah, Boon's a dick!! (if he's reading...you rule dude!). He refuses to devulge what else is in the game...supposedly he's one of the few people who know them ALL...be it because it's an inside programer's joke thing, or no one else cared.

That game still facinates me, to this day.

Ed Boon and John Tobias were the two main guys behind Mortal Kombat. Thus why that name's pretty funny.

While I'm on the subject of MK, does anyone know about the whole Ermac thing in the original MK? Was that for real, and if it was, was he a palette-swapped ninja or something else? I remember Boon saying it was a one-in-a-million chance to see him or something like that...

Hey Josh,
If you push the E button 10 times the U.S. sports team also comes out in the character select screen. Seriously though are they comming back in 2001, I am one of the few who likes them.

Duck King in MOTW? Yeah, and Captain Kidd's hidden in CvS2! <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

Speaking of Sheng Long.... EGM will never speak of it, but here's the scoop!!! I got the following info off someone from this board... forgot who though..

<<< Sheng Long from the first April Fool's joke was actually the creation of the original Sushi X. A friend of mine, Ray Price, worked for EGM back in those days. Sendai Publishing, who originally published EGM before Steve Harris sold it to Ziff-Davis, was based in Lombard, IL, not too far from where I live. I actually know a number of people that worked on the magazine from the middle to the tail end of its prominence (it stinks nowadays), and I had a big laugh when Ray explained some of the back story about it.
Apparently the original April Fool's joke got coverage from Japanese publication Famitsu and caused such a tremor in the SF fan base that Capcom Of Japan was INNUNDATED with phone calls asking about Sheng Long's existence. Capcom Of Japan was FURIOUS with EGM over the joke, so much so that Sendai was forced to admit it was a joke rather than let fans figure it out on their own. It is because of that reason that the April Fool's jokes from then on were all admitted to the following month. Capcom Of Japan had to even modify its phone answering system to include a blurb stating that 'There was no such character as Sheng Long in Street Fighter, so stop calling us and asking about it.'

BUT....in this respect, EGM is responsible for Akuma's creation. If you compare Sheng Long's attributed powers and specifics, a few come to mind:

Teleports onto the screen and kills Bison with Instant Hell Murder/Raging Demon
Dragon Punch hits three times
Gray outfit

In fact, most of what Akuma can do, the fictitious Sheng Long was able to do as well. And the April Fool's joke came before Akuma did. Hmm...I wonder if Sushi can get some royalties ! >>>

I heard this from a friend:

To get Ermac, you had to get Reptile twice, then do what you did to get Reptile a third time. Or some such thing. I think he could slam you without lifting a finger (as he can in UMK3)

It wasn't a joke though. Long before people started playing Mortal Kombat to get the most victories, they were in the pit stage and found many living heads hanging on the shape objects. Later, they continue playing versus human player and finally, a green ninja appears and he started predicting what he told to the gamers. Now the gamers wonder if he's a secret character. They tried to get a double flawless victory and Reptile appears again, but haven't decide to fight you yet. So you get an amount of flawless victories and you warp to the Pit and fight Reptile. He's not playable, but only as a secret boss.

Hey did everyone know that the japanese version of Street Fighter Alpha has Haggar a playable secret character?
