I'm an MVS gamer myself... I just don't understand the reason for buying an AES system, and then getting the phantom-1 converter...

I believe I've seen these converters sell for ungodly amounts, but people still defend it's right saying "it's saved me soooooo much money". Wouldn't it be cheaper to by a cabinet, and an MVS board? That way you could buy jamma games too, and it would be cheaper in the first place...?

Ehh, $150 for a AES (from the right place), and $275 for the converter is cheaper than a Cab, or a 1 slot and a supergun that you buy. Plus you get the AES options for the game (I think). It works out well if you don't have the tech for a supergun or the space for a cab. And sometimes it's cheaper than a Cab.

Peace

If ya wanna collect ALL Neo's games you MUST buy a converter: gem like Puzzle Bobble can only be found in MVS form.

i've seen AES carts in the neo store that are a lot more expensive than a cab with an MVS on it

a normal custom cab with a MVS on it is around $300-350

and if you don't have the space for a cab and don't have the tech to have it made then just go to any place that make arcades and they'll make it for you anyway any tipe you want it

plus a cab can give you money if you put it to work

i agree with you sublime i'm a MVS gamer too and i just never got really into AES

on a side note there are cabs with pc cpu's having all SNK emulated games....sad....

Personally i think aes is best for collection (graphic cases and instruction manuals) and its alot more portable than a cab. The whole reason for aes was cuz it was really hard to own ur own cab back in the day and now its actually affordable to own ur own mvs cab.
So personally i prefer mvs because im not a collector

When all is said and done, for me the price of my AES system, Phantom converter and 20" tv (I play it in a different room than the other games) it was just about the same price as a decent MVS set up, but the fact is that I just don't have any room for a cabinet anywhere, and I don't see any real advantage of having a supergun setup, it's just more complicated than having a nice AES on the counter.

Not everyone has room for a cab.

Maybe we just don't want one of those ugly things? Why do you care if we buy the Phantom-1 anyway?
