I personally can not stand to play fighting games by myself. Playing against the computer AI is no where near as fun as people. People also react much better to funny shit. When i got CvS for my DC, playing through to get all the EX characters and shit might have been the most painfully boring experience ever. Playing through the game a couple of times to get the story line is good enough for me. I owned Last Blade 2 for 3 months and played it a lot but never knew who the boss was.... Maybe i'm just a loser..... probably it.....

Well, playing against a human is much more different then playing the CPU.
With the CPU, no one knows how badly you got beaten...

My brother tends to lay the smackdown on me whenever we play. He's one of those damn Zangief experts. A Wolverine freak. A Shura/Dragon guru.

But for some reason he can't beat me in KOF.

Fighting games tend to be more fun when you have a human opponent. Alone, most fighting games tend to get old fast (there are a few exceptions, I just can't think of them right now). With another person, however, the fun can go on for hours.

I prefer playing fighters with some buddies next to me.

While I'm sure no KoF god (Fran, yeah, we all suck at KoF, eh ) I'm much better than my friends, and that's where the problem starts. Most of my friends get angry and behave like babies if they loose (which they do most of the time). So it's back to 3D RPG for them after getting hit by the Sakazaki family...

I noticed that, the younger the opponents are, the more fun it is. I know some 12 year old kids (friends of my nephews) who are pretty hard to beat, while some of the 35 year old SF veterans fail miserably. Funny.

Beating the ultimate boss after a lot of time, jumping and screaming versus the monitor with phrases like "I beated you, fucking bastard!" or similar... is *erhm* one of the coolest things I might think about...

Man, I can't stand sore losers! I used to beat the shit out of my one friend in Toh Shin Den and he would whine and cry and be like "what the hell?!" He would say this move was cheap or that he got screwed when he tried to pull off a move. Then he basically implied that I was a loser since I spent a lot of time playing the game. It's a goddamn game.
I usually like to challenge the computer, but if it has weak AI, the game will get old fast.

BTW, I dunno why, but I tend to enjoy the older fighting titles when playing against a human.
You know, back when there were no super specials... yea those were the days.
It's probably just me though.

Nope, you aren't alone...It seems that todays fighting games are all about who nails the most supers first (sometimes you only need one). I miss games where you spent the match time actually sparring, where a nice combo rewarded you with a dizzy. Now who needs dizzies? You get nailed with 1 setup and that could be it

Yeah and remember back in the day when 3 solid consecutive hits rewarded the offensive player with a dizzied opponent? I swear, pulling off my first combo I sat back in awe... almost wasted enough time in awe that my opponent broke out of the dizzy!

Nowadays, a combo is weak if it isn't in the double digit range.

*sigh* Where's Dr. Brown's time machine?!?
