Good discussion. what I like about the Neo and it's various systems and games is that I can jump into and out of a game with ease. Its why I like fighters so much. I rarely play RPGs or adventure games unless I know it is quality (zelda, Shemue)

So, I can play neo anywhere from 5 minutes to 12 hours and be satisfied by the experience.

The option on many shooters, puzzlers and actioners to save the level you are on is also a bonus. not a lot of other systems let you save your level in these arcade type games.

Fighters, I usually play out to the end and then call it a day.

Last Resort or Metal Slug is always unpredicatable.

I once played kizuna encounter for over 4 hours non stop as i was on the final boss crow master or whatever he was called and i was determined to beat him as there was no way i was going to play that game all the way through again as it pissed me off, as soon as i beat him, i sold the game to buster broon i think as no way was going through that hell again:)

I have also played it for hours on end one day when i was playing bits of each.

lol, i dont, sort of.....

Usually (as in the last few days) i have turned my neo cd on , the cd player screen has loaded and ive listened to the music rral loud, then i went throgh all of my games doing the same.

You see......i like the neo cd music more than playing the games.

Back in '93 I remember going to the arcade when it opened at 8 in the morning with a group of friends and we stayed there until it closed (8 that evening). It wasn't straight Neo, but we spent the bulk of our time taking turns at each other at Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury Special that were on a badass 50 inch. We played other games too, like Super Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat 2. Then we went home and played our Capcom/SNK ports :) Ah, those were the days..

That kinda reminds me of my old days in the arcades in the early 90's as well.
I would be at the arcade 24/7 playing AOF, FF,
KOF etc..

I'm not sure of my personal record, but at a weekend-long party I took my Neo Geo home system to, the thing was on for more than 36 hours straight (with slight pauses to change games). Those carts get warm after about two hours.

I used to do the same exact thing, until my arcade tuned into a piece of shit.

6 hrs KOF 98 is the longest record for me. 3 hrs/day is normal in my life.

@too_short & Giby

That's what sucks about arcades nowadays. Arcades from the mid 80s - mid 90s were the golden years (I like to think). You just can't go into arcades today and have a ton of fun like you could back then (maybe you can, and I'm just one big jaded fool). Back then you could grab $20 and just be totally entertained for the day (and not even spend all of it). Now I only bring a couple bucks to arcade with if I know I'm going someplace that has one in the vicinity because I know I won't be entertained for all that long frown

One night last year when I had some friends over we had the Neo arcade cabinet going from 7 PM until 8 AM the next day. I can't even remember how many games we played. However, we did spend a lot of time playing Metal Slug X and Last Blade. My arm was getting tired after winning 20+ games of Last Blade though. It's not that I'm really good at the game but that they hadn't had the privilege of playing it before. As for me, I think the longest I've played the Neo is about 5 hours in a row.
