It "looks" pretty cool, but looks can be decieving. I'm not worried though, if SNK/Playmore spent this much time on it I'm pretty sure it will be good. I'm just wondering when its gonna hit my local arcades and come out on AES. I better start saving my pennies, this cart might be worth the $350 price tag.

I can't wait to play this game myself. Knowing Playmore is doing it and Capcom isn't is music to my ears. I just hope this new game retains the gameplay of other SNK fighters, that's all I have to say. :) I just hope, more fighters from both sudes can make an appearance here as well.

Looks ok so far. I expected something far more impressive. But who knows? Maybe its like kof and has killer gameplay.

In my mind, the game is already on my shelf. This game means so much, not just to fighting game fans, but to the future of Playmore. I think they realized this and created a great game that will sell well across platforms, and we all know what that means: more money for Playmore and more Neo games!

I still think it sucks that they wasted 4 character slots of a possible 16, or whatever the number is, on characters like Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Ryo. I'm not necessarily saying they are bad characters, but they wasted like a quarter of the game on characters that are basically the same... It's really unnecessary. Both universes have cool characters that could have been put in, and it sucks that the roster has to be so small. I think they did an okay job though otherwise. It will definitely be a good game, I'm not going to think twice about getting it on home cart... I have a feeling the MVS cart will be expensive for quite a while.

Well, I'm excited about the game, thats for sure. But so far I'm questioning their choice of characters. Come on, Choi?? Why Choi and Earthquake, but no Nakoruru or Ukyo? I was hoping some Last Blade characters would make it in there.

I agree, Choi shouldn't be there but then again, he is a very quick fighter. They also put in Earthquake because of his size. I guess they wanted to balance things out with different fighters. I certainly wish Nakoruru and Ukyo would make an appearace too. annoyed

I am pretty sure there are going to be more chars, because SNK/playmore games typically have at least 40% females which if you look at the roster isnt holding true, so it leads me to believe they have many more characters in the game just not as of yet.

I would really like to think that they will be adding more characters to it, but it looks like that might be the final roster. Well, I am glad that at least Kyo, Terry, and Iori made it. But I would have liked to see Athena in there as well. Not to mention a whole bunch of other characters that are not Choi, Earthquake, Hugo or Dhalsim.

Think Yuri or Leona will be in?

I think the game looks incredible so far. Much more impressed with this than when I first saw CvS. When I saw Mr. Karate in the intro, I thought "No WAY!?", but yeah, I love it, and it's a nice change of pace from Capcom's Akuma/Rugal syndrome.

I'm still waiting for M. Bison, Geese, Shermie, King Lion (Hah!), and Ukyo. I'd be very happy getting two out of the five mentioned.

It looks okay.

So far, it doesnt look as good as Match of the Millenium, but again, none of the versus games can compare to that one..

I'll just have to wait and play it to make my final judgement.

One thing that struck me watching the movies is the speed and movement of the characters. They seemed really fast and their movements from one attack to another were very fluid.
I love fast fighters, I really hate slow 'turtle' styles of play.
And still we have yet to see so many characters.

Well, the backgrounds look good and the characters look well animated. Too bad I don't give a damn about that after the first hour of playing a game.

What pisses me off is that this is going to be just another shoto-fest like Cvs 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong, I like all the characters so far, UNLESS that's all that are going to be in the game.

The KoF universe alone has TONS of characters that are not just simple shotos: Ralf, Clark, Leona, Kim,Seth, Vanessa, Ramon, Angel, Benimaru, Eiji, Lin, Hinako, Daimon, Whip, Shermie, Chris, etc.... The SamSho and Last Blade series both have a great variety of characters that will probably never be seen in this game.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'll say it again: I'd rather have 40-50 characters with great gameplay and variety with shit graphics, than have a game that looks really pretty and doesn't have more than 16 characters and shit gameplay.

Yeah, but that wouldn't sell outside the extreme hardcore and Playmore NEED it to be bigger than that.20-24 chars max as far as i am concerned (although what we have if good enough for me!

I dunno, KoF 2001 and 2002 seemed to do pretty well with that model. wink

I'm extremely underwhelmed so far. From the videos i've seen the same old hadoukens, dragon punches and the like. Ryo's sprite is not redrawn, and looks tiny nezxt to ken, who seems to have more muscles than humanly possible.

The backgrounds look sharp, but so what? i can't see any special detail in them whatsoever - just a wall of rocks, wow.

The roster is seriously bizarre and a quarter of it is shoto characters. I think a lot of potential in variation of fighters has been wasted here. To many shotos, not enough boxers/ninjas/martial arts/wrestlers/ boomerang throwers.

Cus the sad thing is i know exactly what team i'm going to use when i lay my hands on it - the trusted Terry/ Ryo / Kyo team. There's no new characters that would pursuade me to use any others! Now if there was some Jhun, Rick , Hayate - charcters you don't see very often outside of their respected series- some enjoyable and varied matchups could be had.

And personallty, i think weapon based fighters in a game populated by hand to hand fighters is not only stupid but it looks terrible.

Personally i wish the whole world would just get bored of throwing fuckin hadoukens and shoryukens. boring as fuck!

I'm with pheonix 100% about having gameplay as the core element of a game.

If they are having 24-26 characters, then they better use the next 4 or 6 slots avalable to be of a wide variety from different games on the capcom side. Right now it should be called snk vs street fighter.

Believe it or not, when Capcom previewed CvS at E3 a few years ago, it was the same thing - just fihgting on a bare and boring desert background.

A lot of people are against us on that end. They think that this game wouldn't be cool without all the big names, for which they all have fireballs. I think it's gay. I'd prefer to get a game with the more weird characters, but so far, Tabasa, Kasumi, Mr. Karate - those are interesting choices. IMO. They could have premiered Dan, Geese, and Yuri... :o

So while the lineup is looking kind of new, I can onl;y hope that it gets completely new characters next week.

Some people here are so pessimisitc it's untrue. Anybody not impressed by the animation, backgrounds and gameplay pace in the SvC videos should just get on with it and throw themselves off a cliff right now. The Ryu vs Kyo and Earthquake vs Tabasa sequences in particular just blow me away. Everything looks minty.

Endless bitching about the roster is pointless. The full roster has not been announced yet, and Playmore employees at E3 have confirmed that there will be more than 16 characters. The old stalwarts and shotos are always going to be there. Deal with it.

I guess theres always going to be someone who isn't happy and the game can't cater for everyone, but we've only seen glimpses so far. I think this is a very very encouraging start. Anybody who says this first footage is unimpressive because it doesn't portray the all new sprites, naomi quality, 500 strong totally original and diverse roster, next generation fighting game they were hoping for needs to come back down to earth with a bang. A week ago people would have been happy just to know this wasn't going to be a sloppy Playmore KoF flop. The early signs are that SvC is going to be a real gem back here in the real world.
