Forget searching Altavista or Yahoo, virtually everything that pops up is 'rom-related' angry .

I stumbled upon this site by just typing it in to see if I could find some more possible SNK sites.

I typed in Neo-Geo.com thinking it was SNK's website back in late 99 early 2000. I was never able to become a member until I switched my IP.

I stumbled on this site when i was doing research on arcade hardware. i wanted to play arcade games at home but i wasn't sure if if i should go the cab or supergun route. So i would read about different arcade hardware everyday, check out arcade gaming sites and then one day i stumbled upon this site :)

A long time ago when this site first came about I my dad was stationed in South Korea and sent me some Japanese PSX games among them KOF 98 and Samurai Shodown 4 and I had read on the net they were missing mad crazy frames of animation and I was like "man fuck this port shit" and went lookin for Neo-Geo shit and stumbled on this place and found the prices high as fuck and was like "fuck this i'll stick to psx games" then like a year later I ended up coming back and signing up for the forums.

so here I am :D

Well after a long night of hacking (after I bought a CD explaining how 2 hack) I got tired since i hacked and stoled like 35 or 37 roms without even asking. after after playing this game on my pc it had someone named terry in it so i look up terry thinking maybe i hack some more of his things then this this ng.c site come up i wuz like hmmmmmm. then when i learned it was total big bullshit lie i decided to register.

since then i think i hacked like 100 more roms at least. slowly my collection is growing and since i begin to find and get art for these games it almost like the real deal even better since the art i get is best soon i will have my collection picks ready.

I had a problem with my Metal Slug 3 MVS cart in the December of 2000. I posted on Dolphin Lord's site... and was told basically "This place is dead, go ask on <a href="http://www.neo-geo.com"" target="_blank">www.neo-geo.com"</a>

I stopped by, posted in the tech forum... met a lot of nice people that answered all my questions and decided I'd settle in wink

I found this site when it was half Magic cards; i just remember looking at Shawn's collection and saying, "$$$$$$"

i just browsed the forums since their inception, but couldn't contribute anything worthwhile until i got a neo CD, i felt.

the end

I was bored and suddenly remembered about that 'neo geo' thing I always wanted when I was kid but could never afford. So I did a websearch to see if I could pick one up cheap (ha!) as I assumed the neo would've been a longtime dead by then.

I was looking for the MVS cart of Shock Troopers on Ebay in early of May 2002 (ended up buying from M.D. Games Sales) and clicked on some other Neo games up for auction... the person using a picture to represent their Neo game had a big *Neo-Geo.Com written across the pic. I typed in the URL and the rest is history as I graced this place that May as Stormrider_2977 only to later become the man who will be playing his Mega Drive way into two thousand and something (20XX), along with the Neo.

True Story, gonna write a book about, sell a million copies and kick back. Uhh... Yeah right. Anyhow that's how I found this place, I literally tripped and impaled myself on the website/community.

Actually, like a few others here, I'm quite old to the Neo Geo scene, in terms of forum participation. But as a member, I'm kind of new to this exact location. I was a part of the Neo Alec group, info sharing, and of course adding to the "Signs you play too much Neo" list. I was typically known as either Akaimizu or AkaiCham (my favorite avatar was Cham cham on that site). After that site dropped, I was kind of orphaned. I was in the early stages of providing a web site to distribute various Midi files and other musics that I compose, as soundtracking is also my specialty.

I bumped around quite a few other forums, though. Sometimes on the Neo Geo Pocket forum (SNGP) or on gamefaqs. Started writing my own arranged remixes of a few SNK songs in my spare time from my original tunes I make for other things. Anyway, I did meet (from time to time) Neo Geo owners at cons or other functions and usually they ask me why I'm not on the Neo Geo scene, considering my long term experience with Neo Geo games. Thinking that some of them must've come from Alec's site, like I did, I was wondering where they were going. Well, enough references to this site was enough for me to remember to check it out, one day. Which was pretty much last year. So I'm relatively new, but not so new.

Let me guess, he forgot to close the circle?

Edit: As for myself, I found the site on Google... I think that I was surfing for supergun information at the time.

I was lurking on a couple of the old mailing lists, and posting at Dolphin Lord's Yahoo club when Shawn posted this URL (If I remember correctly, it was a few years ago). This forum is way more convenient than a Yahoo club, so I have been here ever since.

In that time, I have seen tons of people come and go. I watched the ON.com merger fail miserably.. oh the drama. Drama is nothing new here.. wink I still enjoy logging in, NG.com is a great source of info and knowledgeable people. It's a good thing to get this many dedicated gamers in one place, always remember that no matter how dramatic things get.

I've known about this website for way longer than I registered here in the forums. I've been an SNK fan for over a decade and its websites like this that really interest me a whole lot. I have no idea when it was since I first came here, it was probably in the late 90's or so. So I decided to register here in December 2002. It's been great so far, I know I'm not very active here but I'm having fun. I hope you guys make me feel welcome here. :)
