To all Neo collectors and gamers:

Please my fellow partners, as collectors we cannot tolerate ridiculous hypes and worshipings for what I may call "smart ass" dumps.

Indeed, IT dudes that feel so proud about dumping CD games, converting "protos", modifying fully developed games and "completing" half-made games, should just be treated like that... IT dudes feeling proud about their skills.

Simply put, all the Neo scene is so full with bullshit nowadays that any little "hacker" can start a full riot on the newbies and neo beggar dorks.

Fellows, I really feel so numb writing this but I know that we true collectors have a moral duty with the general neo dudes.

Please people, stop feeding the nonsense about smart ass dumps, convertions or general crap with your hard earned bucks.

If you want to play a proto, unreleased, or hacked game just load a rom on your PC and keep the sacred Neo scene with its honor.

My respect goes to true proto collectors and my fucks go to "smartie ass hackers" building the popularity that they never had before by taking advantage of ignorance and the previous work of others.

-Francisco.

What or who are you referring to specifically?
I understand your concerns but I am interested in what triggered you to start this thread.
I know I seen a converted MS on ebay where the guy states that it's very rare,blah..blah..blah.. yet he had no manual with it
That right there was a dead giveaway to me that he was trying to push off a convert as authentic.
I am just a person who believes that the purchaser should be made fully aware what they are receiving...NOT DECEIVED..
If they know what they are purchasing, they make their money and they will spend it.

I completely agree with you Big Bear.

I am not talking about anyone in particular, I am just evidencing a current reality on the Neo scene:

SINCE PLAYMORE, THE NEO IS FULL OF SHIT

Yeah, SVC, Matrimellee, etc. are cool but all the parallel goings are so full of confusion/crap/lies/desperate seek of old games/desperate money pays for fake stuff/

I am just saying that the neo dudes are so deperate now a days that stupid hallucinating things start growing up the wazoo...

"I got a brikinger proto from a russian dude..."

"I got a very rare Brazilian Fatal Fury where X is wearing a blue hat instead of a red one..."

"I got my MS5 screenshots on the background of my hacked KOF2003 1/2"...

Get the idea?

We are talking about fake/pirated articles.

It is cool to get to talk about those but PLEASE DON'T WORSHIP FAKE SHIT

PLEASE
PLEASE
PLEASE

I couldnt give a shit, and i dont think it really matters.......

If people want to have a nice original collection, great for them.

People are gonna play cdr's, roms, bootlegs all the time, i do it and dont care, i dont care who does it, you cant stop it.

Just as long as no one is hurt, sold dodgy good or loses money, it really doesnt matter.

Answer me this.........

If say for example, Iron Clad , was available in a bootlegged MVS form, and people were made aware of that fact.........If they wanted to play the game & enjoy it at home, and bought such a cart, legality aside, is that such a problem??

No direct attacks are intended, this is just an example:

1.-An Iron Clad MVS that was converted from CD gets a super high price.

2.-Lots of serious and newbies neo dudes start a long thread about its authenticity.

3.-Time goes by and a lot of similar cases begin to arise much more frequently

4.-In the end we just have the same original/official games we had since long ago (except for the new playmore stuff)

5.-People value, hype and overrate games that are just a result of a smart ass IT dude (namely dumps, convs and mods.

6.-Moded shit aquires more importance than original games

Conclusion, the NEO IS A SECOND AWAY FROM DEAD.

WE ARE SO DESPERATE THAT WE ARE KILLING IT WITHOUT NOTICING!!

crying help

Who's hurting the newcomers???
It can't be the two fools we set out in the garbage for Playmore to pick up..
There is noone around vandalizing authentic documentation any longer which was just a totally bizarre philosophy imo.
As far as bootlegging goes,it is running rampant in the MVS market but it's very easy to troubleshoot this matter and for those who don't know or are unsure about something should always ask..this is a relative rule in life.

The problem is paying rocket high prices for that game without a single doubt and on the other hand cry and weep about 1800 for the official SVC.

That my friend is the problem.

Yes. I caught that.. I did'nt get a chance to read that reply but I believe everything is better than it was with the exception of losing two OUSTANDING members of these forums this year.
The Neo Geo will never DIE as along as there is a fanbase...

Hmmm, I know where I stand on his argument... how about you HPMAN, or JKurtz for that matter?

I think you, Kanjifreak... I'm never calling you that again by the way, it makes my penis shrivel... do not have the faintest clue of the itch programmers, or as you call them hackers, feel about code and challenges in general. Normally we are in it just to see if we can get it to work. It is not for fame, it is not to sell it to some newbie for thousands of dollars... it is to start a project and see it through...

You are what has been called the Class 1 collector, obsessed and jealous it seems that you do not have these items in your collection. Your retort will most likely be "I don't want these hacked pieces of garbage in my collection", but deep inside... you are a sad little boy. Knowing you can never "catch them all" I think I will call you Ash from now on...

So Ash in closing... if you don't like it, don't participate in the threads. They have just as much right to be here as "My Manual Baggie Doesn't Smell Minty!" threads that you collectors post and drive us gamer type insane with.

Dear Nick:

If you were auto-offended that is not my problem.

Challenges are cool, and maybe neither you nor Jeff sold coded shit to anyone to rip them off.

That is great.

Now Mr. Howser, just calm down since I am not offending you, I was directly speaking of the Brikinger dumped shit on ebay Germany.

If you are samrt enough to get some codes together I know you can be smart enough to READ what I wrote.

Read my point 6 of my previous post.

Please read, read read, and then stop causing pitty among us.

By the way, you sold Zuppapa! to me with a ver very high price. That was cool. :D

Well, I've never been thrilled about conversions, dumps and mods jobs -but I only get angry when original materials get ruined in the process (i.e. anything involving a "sac" cart). The only reason I get irked by sac carts is that an original piece of material is getting ruined in the process. That bothers me, even if the original game wasn't "rare". It was still disrespectful. So along those lines, if an alteration is reversable, I'm less likely to be irked. That's why I thought the MVS-AES convertors were a god-send: they removed the need to sac carts and made ridiculously overpriced software available to more people in MVS form.

My problems with the purely memory-based stuff, like ROMs and Emulators are the seperate legal and financial problems they create.

Being against 100% modding ought to also bias someone against getting your console modded -which a lot of the more hard core collectors do.

Eh, as anyone who's been at my place has noticed, I try to keep my stuff in good shape, but I don't care if it's touched or handled so long as it's enjoyed :) (well, other than my ghetto stack o' MVS)

EDIT: As for the conversions and mods, I pay jack-shit for them, so I do my part to make sure they don't appreciate by a dime.
