I want to know your thoughts on this. What if Capcom had been making games for the Neo-Geo (Shit, maybe even when Street Fighter 2 came out)? How would it have affected this whole SNK vs. Capcom (not the game) thing?

yeah, I don't think it was ever a thought in their heads back then, as capcom was too busy pumping out street fighter 2 games every other week, lol!

Sorry, I tried to think about this hypothetically, but I just couldn't picture it.

Hell no, that is one of the worst things that could ever happen.

Or like Sega making games for the Nintendo... oh wait they did. LOL.
In all fairness, there is no doubt that would be cool but would never happen. As far as the SNK vs Capcom, who knows it may have happend sooner?

Its not entirely unlikely I suppose.
Remember, Namco have made arcade games on the Naomi hardware (Ninja Assault), and most people would see Namco and Sega as rivals.

Capcom and SNK probably had a lot of mutual respect for each other during the golden era of the arcade, and personally I'd have liked to see something like Metal Slug running on the CPS3 hardware.

Mabye if they had developed on each others hardware we would have seen a more accurate, balanced Capcom vs SNK, as they would better understand what goes into the 'feel' of each others games.

Well, mabye.........

Capcom suffers from lack of sales with all the arcade products, why will they bother creating games for a support like the MVS. If they really want to release old school 2D games, they just have to use their CPS2 system, it's quite the same as the neo but with a capcom logo.
