Broken and I were talking about this the other day, the CPS2 only has a max 330 mega (sound familiar) game size, but it has a higher resolution - just.

after seeing super gem fighter, mvc2 etc, could the neo push sprites around like this?

the CPS2 games always seem colourful too, check gem fighter out, and obviously the darkstalkers series.

Yes, I think CPS2 is more powerful, but then again, you dont throw away your MVS carts after a few years. Yup, Capcom sucks for making the suicide carts.

What do you mean? Does the internal battery die?

Oh man, looks like you STILL don't know how to use the search function... I hope you don't pretend we explain all the things again.
Check <a href="http://www.cps2shock.com" target="_blank">www.cps2shock.com</a> .

In any case, yes, the CPS2 is graphically more powerful than the MVS, so what? I think the MVS programmers were able to explode it much more. Still, just by games, I prefer the CPS1 way before the 2.

Thanks for the link. I must say, however, that I think it is reasonable to ask this question on the board instead of searching as IT IS NON-NEO RELATED. Stop acting like your time is gold and either answer or don't answer my question. Once again, I do appreciate you sending me the link.

mvc2 (marvel vs capcom 2) was actually made for the Naomi hardware.

Yeah, OK, no problem, you are welcome. In any case if you really want to learn more I really suggest you to make a search in the tech support forum, that by the way is not Neo-related-only and there's stuff about virtually anything, specially all sort of arcade boards.

Big deal.

Spend 5 minutes every 4 years and change the battery. It's not difficult.

And BTW, (prepares for onslaught of flames) CPS2 = God.

I own both CPS-2 games and MVS games, and I like MVS games more just because they don't have loud ass fans on them, like CPS-2 games do. make_fac

If there were an available CPS2 system just like the Neo is for the MVS, that would be the end-all be all for me personally. Vampire Hunter and SSF2X own me for free.

yeah Loopz i was thinking the same thing...

Capcom would have done a great thing creating a console based on the CPS2 board(like AES/MVS)

and i would have bought it day 1^__^

Wasn't a console like that created? What was its name? It had to do with a planet with rings... and with a 4 MB cart...

Didn't Capcom release an official arcade system for the home? It was a niche little product, so I'm sure that very few have seen it. It was an official supergun of sorts that played specially made Capcom games.

<img src="http://assembler.roarvgm.com/CPS_CHANGER/cpschanger1.jpg" alt=" - " />

The changer is only the little unit, ON the board.

It's not a system, just a supergun...and not even a good one (no RGB support). And the games were not "special packs made for it": they're just the good old CPS1 boards in Q-Sound cases, a way for Capcom to get rid of old stocks...

They brought out an SF alpha especially for it, backported from CPS2 -> CPS1.

A scaled down version of the original: who would want such a fake POS?
Capcom did it again a few years later with Rockman - The Power Battle although this wasn't released as a CPS Changer pack...

Alright calm down :) lol

so, could the Max addressable ROM size be broken with the CPS2 too?

Who knows...I've heard that the last release (Progear something) has a different PCB, with SOPs instead of the usual mask roms/eproms...maybe that type can have a superior meg size?

edit: check <a href="http://lillith.sk.tsukuba.ac.jp/~kashima/games/cps2.html" target="_blank">this page</a> out for some info on meg counts as well as other cool stuff (Japanese supergun, RGB-ntsc converter schematics, etc.)
