i'd say red, but others might prefer yellow.

no, i'm not too sure, but red is a universal color and was used for non-fighting games, too.

'genre' stripes dont exist.
metal slugs are red and blue, not orange.

just use whatever color best fits the insert.
like for my metal lug insert i made a camo genre stripe, and tss i used yellow to contrast with the dark/navy blue background
