d00d do yourself a favor and wait for maybe just another three months at the latest for the AES release, or a significant drop on the MVS kit. It will give you more time to save money and buy this thing. i drool over it too but damn if i pay over $1,500 for a cart unless i can recoup the cost somehow and get back $1,550 from a vending route. i had made that mistake once when i bought a sengoku 3 on release $400 only to see it drop under half of that three months later. i hated it! Wait for it d00d it will come... wink

No, I don't even have an itch to buy it at $1850, probably cause I know by August it will be $1200 or less wink ... Wait.. trust me... wait!

Do you realize what ELSE you could buy with that money? I'm sorry but I just don't get these multi-hundred dollar video game purchases. Even if you can afford it, why spend so much on a GAME? There's a difference between being hardcore and just being a sucker...

Wait for the price drop. You'll be happier with your purchase.

i agree Ten, this whole thing is beyond rediculous, i understand the neo scene is different and you should plan on payin high prices but this is just way over the top, whos to say its going to be THAT good. i think its clearly a popularity issue thats all. NO game is worth that IMO unless its some major collectors piece etc..

Maybe if you could make your money back on it, but do you realize how many times people would have to play it for you just to break even?

Good things come to those who wait. Usually. I remember holding off on MOTW official SNK release, and then I couldn't get one for less than $500. frown

But the MVS market is much different then the home cart market... MVS prices go down, where home tend to go up... MVS starts high, home starts lower...

What Nick said. I want SvC in my Cab just as bad as the next guy but I won't be paying $1850 for it, especially since it won't be earning any money for me in return. I'll hold out a couple of months and wait for the price to nose dive.

Does anyone else think this is a bad move on the part of Playmore? I talked to my local Arcade Manager about getting this game and he said 'If it's the same proce as Metal Slug 4 (wich we had on day 1), then yes. If it's any more, forget it. I'm tired of getting burned by SNK'....so, if he represents any part of the Arcade managing community, isn't this price a real shot in the foot?

You can't understand $300 for a home cart either? Spending a few hundred a month on entertainment isn't ridiculous when you have a good job.... Everyone who has money spends some amount of it on entertainment and hobbies. Economies wouldn't work if that weren't the case...

Spending $1500 on a game that will drop in a few months is not a good idea, of course. I am not disagreeing with that.... Just I think spending a few hundred is acceptable from a certain perspective. If I save up everything all month and buy one game and it's a $300 game and another person spends $300 on 5 games, then we both spent the same amount on video games for the month. Maybe I'll play my one game as much as he plays his 5. Ya know?

This is such a tired arguement. Who cares how much you spend on anything, as long as you enjoy it thats what counts. To each his own, whatever floats your boat, and a hundred other sayings...Just do what you like to do - thats all there is too it.

It would be a big mistake for any vendor still in business not to grab this title..ALL casual and hardcore gamers identify with that Capcom lineup.

Well what he's saying I think is that you shouldn't be spending all your money on video games or something like that and I'm saying that spending a few hundred here and there should be acceptable from anyone's perspective. You should really be agreeing with me, right? I'm mostly on your side. I think it's okay to spend a lot on entertainment granted that you enjoy what you spend money on and that you are taking care of your life obligations and such...

$1850 for a game that will will likely be in the bargin bin for PS2 in less than a year seems... silly to me.

Im waiting for an AES release. And if that doens't happen, then ill make due with a PS2 version.

Hey, I love the games as much as anybody, I'm just saying that I feel the burn when I contribute to my AES collection. I personally feel that anything over $300 for a Neo Geo game is completely ridiculous considering the age of the system and the fact that collector hype is the only contributing factor. That's just my 2 cents. If you can afford it and justify it to yourself, more power to you, you are more hardcore than I am. I just can't bring myself to do it.
