This just pops up in my head this morning.
BBH has a detail info regarding this.
I'm wondering who has both A & B versions?

Well, I have version 1... Version 2 sounds interesting though... what serial number range is that in... or... how would I know how to find it? Just buy tons of ST carts... not an easy task,

of course, "Version 1" and "Version 2" are the unofficial names I just gave to them to differentiate between the two. I'm not absolutely certain one version came before the other, but I really would love to know

Hmmm... are you sure it's a US cart? Because it's seemed to me that most of the Version 1's out there are European in origin. When this question was asked in the past, it was mostly European members that had the Version 1 carts... I remember Sifl saying he saw this version at an arcade in Italy. And the original roms that were dumped came from a Swedish source...

Anyways, I have two MVS cartridges, a US one and a Japanese one. The US one has a serial number in the 11,000 range (at work right now so I can't check the exact number), and the Japanese one has no serail number... but they're both Version 2.

The thing I've always been curious about is what would happen if you had the MVS data for Version 1 or 2 in memory, then switched it out with the alternate version. Would it create another entry for Shock Troopers? I'm pretty sure it would, because Version 2 has an extra option in the soft dips - you can change the number of lives from 1 to 8. Version 1 has no such adjustment.

I've owned both. One was a US label cart and the other was a RED Korean cart.
The version 1 was more of an arcade cart,it just seemed to me it did'nt matter who your team members were because everybody shared the same life bar but in version 2,the seperate life bar version gave priority on the player preserving team members for a smoother journey.
I feel like the seperate life bars made it more of a game...but what do I know.
