i don't know, if it was officially released, but i read, that it was already ripped and dumped. annoyed (talked to someone, who already played it)

From what I've heard is that ps2 port is very pixeled and some slowdown occurs.

Proving once again why ports suck ass.
I think I will stick with my Neo home carts instead. I like to play the real thing.

I have Metal Slug X, Last Blade 2 and Mark of the Wolves ports and I used to think they are great.
Once I get the AES originals then they just don't play right. I was shock when I play LB2 AES...much better and smoother in gameplay

DC King of Fighter 99 Evolution is another story.
I like the pseudo 3-D background and control is a lot better than Dream Match.

Yeah I like the originals too. But when you're talking about games that run 200-2,000. id rather take the port. Im wondering if the US version will have blood. if not, Im importing.
PS2 port is pixelated? Yeah fine, the original was pixelated, hell every Metal Slug game is pixelated: thats part of its style!
Slowdown? on PS2? Un-fucking-acceptable, I mean seriously. As a side note, I'd love to know how they rated the original Metal Slug 3 on the Neo. Same for KOF2k2.

I thought that the early version at E3 was running fine with smoothed out edges and no slowdowns.
I haven't own the game yet but the slowdown problem, that is if it turns out to be true is unacceptable especially on a console such as the PS2.It took them long enough to port the game.

Oh well, you are right, I checked the nfo sites and it is listed... IT's pretty sad when the best way to know if a game has been released you just need to check if it has been dumped... It is like the Spaceballs movie
Anyway I got tired of waiting for this port and finally got the MVS instead. Only 72$ + costs.

Frankly speaking I don't really worry about the PS2 port since I have Neo AES version.
I was really happy to get PSX Metal Slug X when it first released in JPN and I even made a thread in here.
But after I play AES version then I rarely touch PSX port, same as KOF99 DM, Evo, LB2 and MOTW.
Well, I'm saving my $$ for the original AES

Pixelated ? it's all about the PS2 resolution display. It's not been only in MS3, a lot of other games suffer from that.
PS2 = Made for mainstream gaming ONLY.
Why should they care about MS3 ?

also, KOF 2000 was a 100% port. what was missing is the neo-geo feelings and the neo-controller, but graphicly, it was perfect.

I tend to say if a console is good if it has a lot of good games, not if it doesn't have bad games. Yeah, only a small percentage of the Ps2 games are good but there are so many of them that you finish with quite a good share of good games. And the Neo has quite a lot of bad games too.Atrophyed:

They don't see any interest in making a good percentage of good games ratio. They only care about $$$$$. Nothing else.
Maybe that's Why SNK went under and also SEGA lost the consoles market control.
But I'd never trade quality for quantity.
The Neo Geo library consists in about 150 titles.

That said, I've stated MANY TIMES about how I've realized that you guys were right, the Neo ports are inferior. I have no trouble eating my words on it if I'm proven wrong.
That said, the PS2 is one of the greatest systems out there, bar none. It has so many great games, a lot of trash, but it has so many great games you're just being a hater by calling it trash. oh_no

Today you have to be complete nuts to release a console 'for the hardcore players'.... I mean come on, PS2 is wiping the floor out with XBox and Gamecube (at least in Europe and even more in Japan) who on earth would make a console for the few selected?
Obviously the more a console it sells the more chance it has to get 2D games, hence that is why PS2 will get most 2D stuff from the other consoles....

they are not only 7 games. if you looked at the PS2 games library, I can assure you that you can find AT LEAST 25 great games which are targeted to hardcore gamers.
but if a game is liked by many gamers doesn't automaticly maen the game sucks. take GC Zelda for example.
plus, if the PS2 had say 25 good games out from 50, it would still be better than a system that has 20 good games out of 20.
now, with the exception of PSOne, the PS2 has the largest number of GREAT games already.
as for sony being unconcerned about their customers, I would say that ALL videogames companies (including Playmore) are the same these days. so, it woulden't be fair judge Sony alone on that.
I know this won't change a anything from your opinion, but ......... uh well, I just wanted to say that
