seems cool and all but it was never released in arcades. im a huge arcade compeditor when it comes to 2d fighting, owning a game at home is simply practice for arcade battles..with no arcade ver it pritty much eliminates the purpose in my eyes

edited cuz im a fool

i enjoyed guilty gear x- for an hour or so.

i guess it's just me, but i couldn't get into it that much.

GAROU i almost CAME the first time i played and heard about it.

who knows, maybe i'll eventually take a liking to guilty gear x, but i don't ever see it even coming close to the personality and style of GAROU in my old-school loving fatal fury die-hard eyes.

LONG LIVE THE HUNGRY WOLVES!!!!!!!!!

Anybody who thinks GGX is the best (Or even best looking) 2d fighter of all time doesn't love 2D games.

True, it's high res and the character designs are pretty good, but the animation is lacking (In some cases big time) and the gameplay get's old- fast.

GGX is 2D for people who really think 3D is their thing. People who think 2D fighters normally look 'old fashioned'...

GGX is also the game of choice for alot of little 'Jr. Importers' who think the DC is the best thing sinced sliced bread.

If you go to www.gamefaqs.com and read the reviews done by those fanboys over there- you'd think the game came to life and gave them their first handjob or something. Well, maybe they did use the manual to get off....

If you think GGX is the best looking 2D fighter of all time, and you've seen all the best Neo fighters- well, I bet you don't go to art museums either... what with them being so boring and uninspiring and all...

It was released in the arcades.

NAOMI I believe...

It's at my local arcade right now, actually. 75 cents a play....

GGX was really just not that exciting to me. As neobuyer pointed out, the animation is sorely lacking compared to MOTW and most other fighting games. I can give a long list of better games than GGX (yes I own it) and MOTW would be at the top of that list, all the SS games, both LB games, Capcom vs. SNK 2, etc.

MOTW kills GGX, but SF3 3rd strike is still king.

r u guys kidding me u think the animation is lacking in guity gear x i mean maybe the backrounds couldve been detailed a lil more but look at the characters and the rich colors they use this game puts the graphics of capcom vs snk to shame now i bet if guilty gear was made by snk u would love it am i right or am i right?

GGX, i bought it for my DC about 7 months ago or so. I played it for about an hour before deciding i didn't like it that much and that it was a waste of my money. My friend recently bought it for PS2. He played it non-stop for like a month and then kept bugging me to play it with him. I beat his ass every time, even having barely played the game and having not played it for months. He kept bitching about how May's Destroy move shouldn't be unblockable.... LMAO. He sold the game a couple of days ago... guess he got tired of getting his ass beat in a game he played way too much by someone who only played against him. My point is that the game is lacking in orriginallity of sorts. It has CrAzY Kombos but MvC2 has that. Only truly unique thing i can think of are the destroy moves. But i'm pretty sure those have absolutely no practical use, except as a last ditch effort. Also in some of the stages i can actually lose my character(not good).

Garou has to be one of my all time favourites. It still looks better than most 2D fighters (Capcom VS SNK 2 uses the same old sprites that were used in SFA), it is better animated than most of GGX, even though it might not be as hi-res. I really think that GGX looks TOO clean to have real appeal. Sure it looks cool if you see a pro fighting, but it just looks like a choppy cartoon when I play it.

Anyway; SF3:3rd Strike is my current favourite. It has THE best animation of ANY 2D fighter, even though it might not be NAOMI at all. It feels completely right when playing the game for the first time, the same feeling Garou gave me.
