Man,just looking at !arcade! forum..well the news they will be REPRODUCING the rarest home carts doesn't raise ANY question in our expert members!
That's too funny.

Yes it's said the home cart produced by !arcade! will differ by one particular-ONE alteration..

No one can see the danger in it..

Not questioninig !Arcade! honesty but what happen when someone will try to resell !Arcade! home carts to ignorant buyers or newbies?
Infact if they are different in only one small particular..well you get the idea.

But hey,all are busy taking shots at neo-geo.com price guide!
DSD is busy saying the prices of the guide are ripoffs when HE was selling his Last Blades US home carts TOTALLY in keepibng with the price guide if not MORE.
He was selling Lasst Blades 1 US for $300 or so little time ago...

Yeah,I'm speaking from a collector's point of view.

The neo geo scene doesn't need fake home carts or reproducing home carts that already exist.

Comes to mind a friend of mine who was worried about buying from !arcade! a common home cart...would it be real? he was wondering...

Anyway, just to share a thought with the community and to mark how people often are really not so open minded.

Again, not doubting !arcade! honesty but finding funny no one points out a real good possible problem.

I'm 100% with you, Simone.
This idea of !Arcade! of reproducing rare AES carts is frightening and dangerous...
Someone told me that, on their site, they were asking for an Euro Kizuna manual...

In specific,a jap rare cart like Twinkle Star Sprites IF reproduced with very few differences...would lead to real scam by persons reaselling it for the real thing...

Otherwise,a totally different insert could be a good idea to mark the rel -SNK TSS authentic and the not real..

The talking could go on for Ninja master jap and US home carts, that can be reproduced easily..

More,if you take Nicola the Metal Slug 1 converted going for $299 on Ebay..it doesn't seem it is appealing for most of neo fans..it is still there...

Otherwise,if you had a perfect reproduction of Metal Slug 1 it would be for sure more appealing..but also pretty scary for a collector..

These 'news' could mean the beginning of the end of the Neo scene, as we know it...
It's your choice, Neo fans, good or bad?!?

Sense the whole market is going "HOME BREW",how about we get some ORIGINAL product produced??
Think that would be less dangerous??
A heavily criticized proposition but collecters & buyers would still be able to purchase authentic merchandise in confidence.
People praying for prices to come down will soon get their wish because the BUYING public will have no confidence in the purchases they make concerning NGH carts.

i dont have a problem with !arcade making
reproductions but when you make them look
so similar to the originals it borders
a bad line for me.
especially in a resale situation with an
uninformed seller or buyer.

I like to see !Arcade! reproduction of rare homecarts.

At least we can "own" those rare titles

Way to go, !Arcade!

Hey Bear, fake stuff is fake stuff, no matter what...
One thing is converting unreleased MVS titles on AES format; there's nothing wrong since these games never had an official release (actually i own 2 of these conversions).
Another thing is the unauthorized reproduction of officially released AES carts (we both know that !Arcade! has the means to make stuff that looks like the original or even better!).
This is a fake, a plagiarism... for me it's the same shit as dumping ROMs...

I think that it is great that !arcade! is making these games available more readily. As long as the "difference" is made clear and well known, serious buyers of the AUTHENTIC collectible should be able to tell which version is being sold.

Where do we disagree???
Instead of reproductions I am in favor of original releases professional or home brew....

I THINK YOU'RE MISSIN THE POINT YKNOW

ARCADE CAN REPRODUCE WHATEVER HE / THEY WANT

BUT IF THEY REPRODUCE A TSS OR A NINJA MASTER SO WELL THAT PEOPLE CANT SPOT DIFFERENCES......

THATS REALLY CREEPY

IF I WAS TO BUY TSS,
AND IF I WAS TO PAY 1000 FOR IT

FUCK,
YOU GOTTA BE SURE YOU'RE BUYING AN ORIGINAL TSS AND NOT A REPRODUCTION

ALSO,
IF YOU REALLY WANNA PLAY TSS AND CANT AFFORD IT,BUY THE MVS

AT LEAST THE MVS IS ORIGINAL SNK STUFF

BAH

Liquid snake: if reproduction is so close to the original to cheat a potential buyer, there is a problem and a possible fraud by some resellers.

Trey:I feel this forum much more sensitive to that problem .

The neogeo scene has a lot of bad points,of course, but adding also that EVERY time you buy a rare home cart you have to EXAMINE it..it's really too much and better get out the the scene...

Maybe i misunderstood your words, but your last phrase made me think that you were actually happy about an !Arcade! reproduction of rare carts, so that there was mess and confusion in the AES market, creating a sort of non-confidence in buyers ('will be original or fake??')...

Damn. I'm happy about the reproduction of authentic product???? NOWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!
I meant that the people who PRAY that NGH cartridges should be cheaper will get their wish because buyer's will not make purchases of the so called "Rare Carts" with confidence in the future.
Alot of the common carts are in SHITTY condition....
Alot of the so called RARE carts are being reproduced.....
MVS carts are being bootlegged...
You think I'm happy about the above???
When you've been around like I have from the beginning and you observe this community deteriorating with every passing year...believe me,there is very little to be happy about but on the other hand I'm not a sentimental fool either.
I adjust with the times....

Honestly I wish !ARCADE! would stick to unreleased MVS - AES conversions. Lot of good material NITD, PI2, Shocktroopers, KOF2001?, ect........ and everyone knows they are not SNK original.

I often consider what it would be like owning a conversion, and I can't do it, I can't bend myself to buy a converted metal slug 1.

I only collect Japanese games, and part of the solace I get in that is I don't buy with a nagging feeling that my cart is converted. Sure, it could be a conversion, which would suck, but as I see most conversion out on the market being packaged as US titles...

If the neo carts were easier to open, I would check. It's really scary to think some of us might not own legitimate goods. Perhaps we should issue pedigrees, so that future owners can track lines of ownership (the lucky man to own BillKwanDo's Mutation Nation). Oh well.

That could be not a good point evilwasabi..even japanese rare home carts like TSS or others could be reproducted.

I totally agree with BB..the neo scene is getting worse, but that for people like tonk or so,with NO passion at all for the neogeo, just passion for expensive and rare things.

The pedigree thing also is not a bad idea..BETTER knowing who you are buying from ..
