rarehero... I took an old guide on the internet from BillW I think and really cleaned it up and added a ton of stuff to play Quest of Jong master.... The guide is top notch stuff, the original was good, and I tried to make it even simplier to understand, added picts, strategies, and a walk through of the Japanese commands so you could locate them quickly... it should help you learn Mahjong. I will dig it up and send it to you today <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Well there isn't any text on the pieces, they are simply numbers in three different suites. The Japanese Character numbers are deffinetly hard at first and worth learning, but there are only 9 so that is not too bad. The rest of the pieces are simply graphical number representations for there suite in Bamboo and dots. All that is left are the special tiles, the Four winds in black, and the dragon tiles in Green, Red and White... these are simply match tiles and aren't to hard to understand. the game is really simple, it is just that I think a lot of people make it harder than it actually is. If anyone is interested in the guide let me know and I will send it to you as well,

I remember the guide nruva is talking about, I wrote it. Well, I wrote most of it anyway. That was acutally a collaboration with two other guys. I wrote the mahjong basics part and they filled in the JongMaster stuff. We put my name on it because I was the only one who would answer questions. In the years that guide has been up, I think I got three e-mails about it. Looking back, I can see how incomplete it is now. I have learned so much, especially about Japanese rules, I am surprised anyone was able to do dick with that guide.

Interesting,
Jeff
