Yesterday I had a parcel delivered to my lady-friends house in America as I would be visting shortly and shipping was cheaper,it was a MVS cart of art of fighting 3,anyway I got my friend to open the package to tell me whether there was a mini marquee in there and the first words she uttered was...is that the game, look at the size of that mother...lol she starting laughing when I said yes in astonishment, stating she never knew they made game carts that big,
I was happy for the day knowing that people who had never seen a neo cart might perceive it in the same sort of way in disbelief
Has anyone here ever shown someone a neo cart with the person giving the same type of response.
I am off to philly for two weeks on saturday

Heh,
Yeah, I always get a kick out of seeing my friends reaction when they see a NEO cart for the first time. I was pretty amazed myself when I first saw one, then I was amazed even more when I seen not one, but two chips inside.

Too true I remember when I first got my AES system and had on order fatal fury 2 which was not yet released on AES at the time,I looked at the machines big slot for the cart but never though for a second the cart would fit the whole of the slot with no space, when I got the game I was thinking jesus fucking christ,Happy memories

Isn't that initial, "Holy crap!" look just the most precious thing ever! I still love seeng that to this day. People think cart, they think 2600 or Genesis or something. They see the big boy and they can't believe it. Just the best.

I get this all the time. I love showing off my Neo Geo. It is the prize item in my game collection. Friends marvel for long amounts of time over the massivness of the Neo carts. The funniest time was when a friend of mine compared the boxes to old school vhs porn boxes, memories man.....memories.

The Neo Geo is good times forever.

There is almost no greater feeling than showing someone what a Neo-Geo cart looks like, and watching their reaction:

hahah yeah...it is kind of like a phallic symbol! Lets face it, people DO get jealous at the sight of our humongous carts.

Oh dear. I'm sorry

Yeah!! I remember the first time I saw a Neo cart back in 91,. Back then the only systems that were out were the Snes and Genesis and I was amazed at how big the thing was compared to the mainstream systems.
The Neo is like the Univac. It was an advanced system of it's time. Since the Univac was like the first computer it was really humungous and took up the space of an entire room. Now PC's are so small that they fit on top of your lap.

I knew the games were huge, but seeing pictures of them doesn't even compare to real life experiences. I've had my Neo for over 2 months and I still check out the system and my AES collection once in awhile. Bigger is better.

Hell yes size matters, if the carts were the size of SNES or genesis carts, I don't know that I would be willing to spend so much on them. Percieved value.

Once my girlfriend saw an AES cart box, then i opened it up to show her the cart, and she said:"Wow, it's big! I thought there was a CD inside...".

I remember looking at neo game boxes at the local import game shop for a couple years, never realizing that the games inside were actually that big! Man when I finally bought a system and picked up my first cart, I was stoked at how huge the damn thing was.. I love that about neo geo games.

there are great games on every system, but only on neo geo can you actually get so into the actual physical game & packaging itself.. these big carts & their boxes are so awesome!

I love showing off the size of the carts. Then I go into a little phrase:
"You're looking at an actual arcade game. The only thing that's missing is the quarter slot."
