Depending on the games, I'll call it a good deal, not great by any means but you're not getting ripped off.

It depends not only on the games, but the condition of the cab. Is the monitor mint with no burn in? Are the joysticks new or in new condition? The buttons? Look inside and check the wiring; does it look good?

I don't think it matters so much which games you pick, unless you get your choice of all newer games like KOF 2k, Slug 3 or 4, Strikers. I say this because any MVS game can be found for cheap.

If the condition is not up to par, then offer a lower price.

I'd break it down this way:

$350.00 - $400.00 for the cabinet if its in good shape. If its an original US Red cabinet, it sahould be 25" not 19". Make sure the CP is in good shape, especially the overlay. If you don't like the Joysticks or buttons, ask for new ones (correct colors). Make sure the front and sides are RED with neo art work, not black with stickers. Also make sure the top 4 light pannels work. Check to see if the right power supply is in there. If its a Red US MVS cabinet, there should be a power switch inside the front coin door. This should work. Also, while in the front door, check the test button & free credit button. You might also want to check for coin mechs & coin bin to complete the machine. Lastly, get the manual!
As far as the games go, check what your choices are, then compare to Ebay Prices. If your only offered games that go on ebay for $10.00, then the $650.00 is too much. If you can get 4 games that go for $50.00 and more, then it sounds like a decent deal to me.

I would agree with that breakdown, and add a couple of things:

I would not worry too much about the light panels behind the marquee. Most of the MVS cabs I have seen or owned have one or more panels not working due to age. Don't sweat it if they all don't work.

The other thing I would be sure to check is the monitor itself. Be sure it is bright and sharp, and check for screen burn.

Also, look at the wiring and see if it has been hacked up.

Good luck!

Wrong!

Collecting Neo Geo of any nature is not "cheap". But it sure is FUN. glee

well..If the Cab is in good condition following the advise of the above members, then I'd say go for it..
Also providing you get a pic of some of the more expensive games,,Good price.

Good price....Without shipping...no shipping Yes?

I love my cab..I love playing the games.
I also own a AES..
If you are into playing the games you can get a good amount of them for cheap.VS the higher prices of certain AES titles.

If you like the Arcade feel then MVS is the way to go.
Best damn thing I ever bought..that Cab.
I get more enjoyment playing that cab then anything else I own..

Be wary of this game, it's the most heavily bootlegged NeoGeo game (or one of them, at least). Ask the owner to verify if it's a legit cart, if it's a boot it's worthless.

Rage of the Dragons, Bust-A-Move Again/Puzzle Bobble 2, Neo Bomberman, Pop 'N' Bounce, Mark of the Wolves, Super Dodgeball. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
