What risk fo I run if I leave my Memory Card plugged in my Neo when not in use.

The instructions state that I should not leave it in but it does not state circumstances. Surges, battery drain, what?

It's just that pluuging and unplugging that darned thing is getting on my nerves, it's so friggin tight.

Neo-experts, I await your answer...

Is that so, Liquid Snake!? Is that so....?

Thanks. This will alleviate my worries. The box says that the card should only last 5 years. Why is your so good?

That's what I thought years ago.
I used to worry that I'll never finish Nam-75 coz you'll need memory card for sure (but I still can't finish)

Well.......it's still working fine........

They said that Legend of Zelda on NES should only last 5 years too, and my cart still works.

I can't say the same for Shining Force on the Genesis though.

Well, I leave my memory card plugged in constantly, and so far, it hasn't stopped working. I really can't think of any reason why leaving the cards plugged in for extended periods of time would be damaging. Truth be told, I'm far to lazy to go about removing the damn thing every time I stop playing. However, for general use, I don't use an official SNK memory card with my home cart system. I have a few new, boxed memory cards in my collection, but I don't use them. Instead, I use a 1MB Panasonic PCMCIA Type I memory card for Neo-Geo game save purposes. The best thing about this card, aside from the fact that it can save much more data than a standard card, is that the battery it uses CAN be easily replaced. This is made possible by virtue of the fact that this card's battery compartment is a screwed-down, user accessible hatch. Unlike SNK's cards, the batteries were meant to be replicable in this Panasonic PCMCIA card. The same can't be said of the official SNK cards, which for all intents and purposes, were made to be disposed of after their batteries have died.
