Right, I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever used a neo-geo cd emulator.

I understand everyone on these boards is totally against emulation. I don't think its such a bad thing...I didn't own any Neo-Geo gear until I had played all the games on an emulator. Of course, I've played loads of them in the arcades, but in the UK Neo Geo gear has always been rare. I now have a 1-slot, Neo CD and a hyper neo 64 board and have abandoned my emulators

Still, I own a Neo-Geo cd and honestly found the loading times to be completely shite. Im in fear of picking last blade 2 coz i just know theres gonna be like 1 min loading time between fights, at least.

So is a Neo-Geo CD emulator worth a go? Im thinking a 50x speed cd-rom is a bit better than a 1x speed If so, where can I get hold of one?

Are you looking for a 50X cd-rom or a neogeocd emulator?

I think he is wondering if there is a Neo CD emu, and if it in fact takes advantage of the faster Cd Rom in most Modern PCs...this is a really good question. I am curious about it as well.

Anyone?

Wait a sec! There's an emulator out there that allows you to play Neo Geo CDs on your PC? (I'm talking about actually playing the CDs on a CD-ROM drive, just to clarify things.) That sounds too good to be true. If it is, show me proof that it works.

I'm still waiting for a Dreamcast Emulator to support the CD-ROM.

I mean...jesus! It's not like EVERYONE who uses them wants to use ISO's. I wanna run 'em off my discs.

Get some s-mokin' Cosmic Smash rips .

Okay, mvsholic. I'll ask this question slowly. So, with this emulator, all you have to do is put a Neo-Geo CD (like KOF 94) into your CD-ROM drive, and play it off of your PC? Just like that?

1. Download the emulator
2. Unzip
3. unzip the neogeocd bios in the same directory as the emulator
4. start the emulator by running the executable
5. load the cd
6. play the game

it plays beautifully on PC. if u got 450mhz or above it gone so smooth. too bad i got only 450mhz.

but damn, NJ's neocd emu better than that Fabrice's emu.

in NJ's you can use 2 method:
1. run game straight from CD (slowdown/skip occuring sometime)
2. you can adjust da emu to copy file onto your HD (approx space needed 200megs) then it run sooo smooth.

pros:
play ANY game with loading max at 1-2 sec, if u got +40x speed.

cons:
PC controller always sucks. nothing better compare original Neogeo/NeoCD pad/stick. i hope some1 can hack it for play with PC.

btw, this just an emu, not a rom player. althought it can play copy games too. just another alternative way to play your neocd games, in case your unit dead or near dead (like mine).

Did a google search, found exactly what I needed, I can confirm this shit does appear as a CDZ menu.
I have not tested a game yet, I will do so now.

Yes there is a Neo CD emulator, I have used it to play 2 Neo Geo CDs I have here... Acutally it is great. I only have Ironclad and Final Romance, but they load really fast on the PC.

The emulator is clean, has a nice interface and should allow you to play your games with almost no loading time. I was actually surprised that the thing worked as well as it did... I am just happy I got to play these games that were just collecting dust for me.

Every game I have tested works.
The problem is the SFX are to low, (can be altered no doubt)..
I just want to find a way to play as geese from aof 2 or krizalid from kof 99.(could not normally use a code)
I have neogeocd036_011030. Which does not contain a cheat interface.
A bitch it doesnt either....

can be hacked by trainer.

u cant play geese fully, coz whenever u finish da round, da game went reset.
da only thing is to create "reset" button.

i know coz i tried on NRX. i also create those trainers. i say both CD & MVS (roms) r both identical, even da dip switch setting!

How exactly do I get the trainer to work? Do I put it in the same folder, then it just works? How do I go about this?

trainer is just another program that run with emu simultaneously. da cheat functions can be activate manually or using hot keys. with trainer, i can hack whatever i want (just like action replay type engine). not neccesarily need to be in same folder. it just a prog, run & functioning only when da correspondent emu is running. wont affect any other prog in your pc.

u can visit my page, download some trainers & test 'em on NRX (i havent made one for neocd yet, since da emu kept updating once a day, hard to follow).
im NOT reccomending/suggesting u to use emu/romz, but since u want to know abt trainer, u can hav a quick test. just a test (read da readme file b4 running, plz).
