Guys,

Can't help but read thru all the recently made posts about neo-geo.com/Shawn.

The drama is at an all-time high and making me sick. Leave the man alone! (I am far from an ass-kisser, so please hold onto your hate mail) :)

He provides us with a great place to gab about the Neo/SNK. He IS the ONLY source who fronts US AES releases. He has an incredible database of information that is essential to all things Neo. (I know there are others who provide this information too, but he is hosting it on his site; but I am thankful to all who contribute - not just Shawn)

I have been here almost 2 years and I'm still learning more and more about the system & it's inventor.

He DOESN'T charge us ANYTHING to register, talk, sell, buy, chat, etc....

He even allows site-haters to post derogatory threads about him/this site without deleting posts. How much more can you ask for?

So he makes a hefty profit on new AES release....So he makes some green on used AES releases.....

Last time I checked, this was NOT a crime. This is america baby. Land of the free.....Home of the brave.......and a place to make a living......

Some of you guys (that I even like) seem to loose sight of what's really going on here.

Don't let hate take over your life. I am in a odd mood since my girlfriends' cousin just passed away this afternoon due to Liver/Colon Cancer. He was only 30 years old..... He was a close family member with a great future, but that was all taken away from him. He just recently got married and planned on starting a family. How do you think his wife feels? Do you think she is up tonight complaining that FTL is possibly raising the price of Euro/AES carts? Or that Shawn is making 33% profit on the new home cart releases? Fuck no...

She is mourning her husband's death. Maybe she is pondering the idea that she will never be able to see him again, or give him a kiss goodnight, or tell him how much she loves him. Or possibly, she'll never be able to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan with him again. Nor will they ever be able to start a family since he was robbed of another 50 years of precious life. They won't be able to share another Xmas; or any othe holiday. How will she sleep tonight knowing that when she wakes, she won't see him by her side?

The only thing she will be able to do is drive five miles to Ressurection Cemetary and visit him at his grave; bring flowers to his headstone, and mourn his death. And what's icing on the cake you ask? Her birthday is only 6 days away.....what a great gift for someone to remember.....their husband passing on such a joyous day.

Was she (his wife) asked if this was okay? How do you think his parents feel? Burying a child when you (the parents) are supposed to see their offspring grow and make a life for themselves. How will his sister feel when her kids grow up without an uncle? How would you even put your life back together if your loved one was taken from you so abruptly?

I am not very old (24 years of age) but I have come to a conclusion while on this earth. Life sucks. As simple and shallow as it sounds; life sucks. As you grow older, it get's worse. Why you ask? Cause your not niave anymore. You loose your ignorance. You loose your innocence. You see the hate in people. You see the bad in life. You see all the negative things that the world has to offer. And you can't escape it. I am sitting here sobbing as I write this. I haven't cried in over 5 years.....

And all you guys bitch & complain about this site's spammers.....

Life is far too short to bitch about AES prices, chat room cancellations, moderator status, etc.., etc...

Go outside and get some fresh air. Take that vacation you were putting off. Tell a loved-one how you feel. Live for the day & not for the future. Put no trust in tomorrow. Who knows what will happen next week. We are going to war with Iraq. Personally, I think that mother fucker (Saddam) needs to get blown to bits and spoon fed to Osama Bin Laden; but hey, I'm a little bias since I'm American.

I am quiting a good job to move to California in April. Do I have a job lined up? No. Do I care? No. Why? Cause that's not important in life. Family, friends & the pursuit of happiness is what's top on my list. Don't get me wrong, I jack off to the neo just like the rest of you perves, but it doesn't keep me warm at night. It doesn't fill that void in my life like my girlfriend Mandy.

Quit bitching/arguing/spamming about non-critical events that have NO revelance to your safety/functionality of life.

Be grateful with what you have, cause it will all be taken away from you one day.

Good Night,
Kpj

I totally agree about what was said about Shawn.. And let's not forget that he is selling those Sengoku 3s at a loss.

Some people do like a good argument here and there, but I agree that some members have lost touch.

Well put Kenny. I wont name names but some people take this place a little too seriously. I believe some 'drama' is a good thing, keeps things interesting. But some of the threads lately have just been plain sickening. I think most all of us here have bigger priorities even if it doesn't show all the time, lets try to make that a little more evident from time to time. wink

Good luck with the move, man. Out here the economy is one of the absolute worst conditions right now out of all the states. It's very, very hard to get a job right now.

Good luck. Hope you do well in all of your endeavors.

I totally agree too, except for the Life sucks..

It seems to be a common thought on the internet and I really think that you should take your own advice more seriously. Internet is nice, games are nice but having a life, good health, friends, health, career etc are much more important. And I really think that if you have enough of those, life just can't suck. Maybe for now, seeing your situation, but not for the rest of your life.

Not flame intended, just something I wanted to say.

Kpj, life doesn't suck. Any world that allows you to create a work of art as beautiful as your 'Neo-Geo Coffee Table' doesn't suck. It may be cruel at times, but it doesn't suck.

I think you must have realized this yourself because a couple of paragraphs down you wrote:

Go outside and get some fresh air.
My advice to you is to do the same thing. Or better yet, stay inside and play a couple of rounds of whatever your favourite game is at the moment on that Coffee Table of yours. That thing is awesome. I hope it helps you remember that life can be too.

Guys,

Thanks for all your support & understanding.

Yes, the world is a beautiful place and is unimaginable at times, but it also has it's trade-offs/costs.

I am a hardcore optimist (believe it or not). I rarely, if ever, get in low spirits. But my objective with this thread was to wake you people up and put get your priorities in order.

Maybe the word "suck" as I used it was a little missinterperted. What I was trying to say is that sometimes I wish I was still a little boy, full of ignorance. Sometimes I wish I didn't know the things I know now. Sometimes I wish the highlight of my afternoon was still turning on the TV after grade school to watch "He-man : Master of the Universe", or going outside to play kick-ball in the street with my neighborhood friends. Or maybe it was going to Grandma's house to have fresh homemade pizza. (I'm Italian and loved my grandma dearly; but she was also taken from this earth due to cancer)

Sometimes it's nice to forget all the bullshit that's happening in life and reminiss (spelling wrong, I know) of the past & good times you had when you were a child...when ignorance was bliss...

The statement about getting fresh air & to live each day to it's fullest was to all who get shaken up with the Neo scene drama; whether it be the price list, spammers/trolls, interval between bumps/posts or the webmaster (who has done no wrong in my book).

I have woken up sometime ago. I see the real picture. I am trying to steer some of you on the right path.

And by the way, I just saw the story about coptordoctor in the Middle East. Nice chopper there sir. It's nice to see a Neo member supporting our country at this time of hostility.

Kick their asses doc!

I wish your family the best Kenny Boy.

I have also had a recent death in my family, my closest grandmother was taken by Stomach Cancer. She would have lived if the doctors would have taken a closer look when all the symptoms were present, but insead they told her to take more iron and that she had an ulcer. 3 months later she was back in the hospital with the same symptoms and wouldn't you know, when they looked again it was full blown Stomach Cancer. I blame our irresponsible medical people of Cumberland for missing this one and not a day goes by when I don't wonder why they didn't find it the first time. But, what I'm trying to say is that I feel your pain, my friend.

I've also come to a crossroads where I have one more year of college and still haven't figured out what I want to do, but the reality of life and the real world are nipping at my heels. This is when I wish I was back in High School, playing Video Games all the time. Sadly when you get older more responsibilities come your way and sometimes I have so many I get depressed, but I'm quite a positive thinker myself. I truly believe that my hopes for tomorrow and the future look bright.

As for shawn, keep up the good work, no matter how many dramatic and sickening threads you read from unappreciative Neo.comers. The important part is that the ones who do appreciate what you do outweigh the ones who don't.

Good post Kenny. I've gotten some good deals from you here, and you've been a trustworthy seller in my book. Good luck on your venture; I respect anyone who can just quir their job and pick up and move somewhere else in pursuit of their dreams.

And there is a lot of negativity on this board lately. About current events, about NG.com, about Shawn. I don't personally know him, but he seems to be a reasonable guy, and some people here seem to forget that this is a free website, owned by him. You're welcome to leave and never come back at any time. It's all virtual, none of this really exists. :)

And I too think the NeoStore's prices are pretty crappy, but I also work in sales, and one thing is for sure - nobody is holding a gun to anybody's head when they buy something in this country. Free market = free will. I never understood how some people will go into someone's selling thread to tell them their "prices are too high". Hahaha what assholes.

Kenny my friend, you couldn't have said things better. I agree with you 100% about the site and about Shawn. Many seem to hold it against them that he makes money off this site. These people don't seem to realise that bandwidth isn't free and that most of that profit is going to keep alive the very boards that they whine and complain on. The drama around here is right sick.

Well guy, I truly wish the best for you and your family in what is clearly a troubling time for you. I too lost a close relative last year. My Grandmother finally passed away after living with severa Diabetes for twenty years and fighting congesestive heart failure, liver failure, emerging blindness and a host of other problems spawned by it. We had to watch her spend six weeks in hospital, dying a little more each day. It is a very hard thing to go through, but with time, family and good friends, it can be overcome. I am truly sorry for your loss my friend. Take it easy and good luck!

Yup, lately there have been a lot of people who have chosen to define themselves by who they dislike than by who they are which is pretty sad.

This is a great thread, and reflects a lot on what I've been thinking about lately. I hope more people read this, and it gets stuck to the top for more traffic.

Theres definetly a new hierachy opening up here.

I dont know why theres so much debate about Shawn, after all he doesnt say much.

Perhaps like the "DON" figure, as in his Geese avatar, he likes to let others do his dirty work and consider it beneath him??

I dont know and dont care.

All I knw is he lets us use this site for free, he secured so many new relaeses for us, and and I for one am avoiding any drama

I had that 'He-Man'-feeling too when i saw some of the rereleased toys recently... wink

But just remember that those times were indeed innocent-but TODAY at least you can buy your videogames all by yourself without asking the parents for pocket money,or,in the case of the expensive NEO ones, wait for birthdays & christmas.

Even growing up has it's advantages... wink

I have only been here for about a month or so, but I would like to say that it is so nice to see a positive thread. Minus the unfortunate death in Kenny Boys family, my condolences to you and your family. The first 2 things that I noticed here were what a great place to buy/sell it is...and how negative alot of the members can be towards each other and the site. I am thankful that I have found a place to hang out, discuss Neo-things, trade, and make new friends. I hope that alot of those aformentioned members realize how good it is to have a site like this provided to us, especially considering that it does not even cost anything! I hope this positive vibe only grows from here
