here is my finished product of the t-shirt i made for com-tec class. overall it turned out pretty good i guess.

heres what i did to make it:
i had a combo animation of terry bogard and i used it with photoshop to create a sillouhette of his figure. after that i split up the frames and selected key frames and positioned them in a line. from there i exported the image into Signlab. using signlab i cleaned up the edges and used a plotter to cut some film that sticks to the silkscreen . after applying the film to 2 seperate screens i lined them up and used red and white ink to create my shirt. all in all it came out pretty good. i had some issues with the ink so it isnt perfect but oh well. not as nice as any professionally done shirt but still.

what was really awsome tho was the back of the shirt. it came out perfectly and looks really sweet. so i thought i would press some more of just the back image onto the front of some shirts just cuz it worked so good.

let me know what you think guys!

Man that shirt is sweet. That's the kind of shirt that should have won the tshirt contest, cuz I'd actually wear that.

Have you considered using Iron on transfers? You simply print out a image using an ink jet printer, cut and iron. I suggest using transfers for dark fabrics. Regular transfers will only show up on light fabric. Here is an example of my work:

i noticed with the iron on's, i find that its not that great quality. it looks kinda pixelated and thin. but its good because you can have alot more detail and colours.

i designed it after the t-shirt contest was over so i didnt enter it.

as for the screens i already destroyed them. but i kept the garou logo screen cuz its the only one that turned out really nice i plan on making some more but i dont know if i could sell em here. i was planning on doing it before all the rules were made but its not my logo :(

maybe i will just make some shirts and send them to people when i sell other items, kind of like a free gift. i remember when i got some stickers when i bought an item off cappadonna those free giftst just make you feel good :D

Hrrm, one of my fraternity brothers owns a T Shirt printing shop. Would it be likely that there would be some kind of problem if for our next Street Fighter III or more importantly Mark of the Wolves tournament I had some shirts made up for the participants?

:) That's a great shirt for printing manually, To manually cut out that pattern by hand reminds me of the good ole days of screen printing, are you going to make any other designs?

About the issues you had with the ink, did you cure the white ink before you printed the red? wink

actually i used a computer plotter to cut the material that sticks to the screen.

the ink stuff used is really thick and plastically and just a bitch to work with overall. insanly enough the ink never ever dries unless you cook it on with a heat gun. besically i put the white backround underneath and printed the red after i dried the white. if i just put the red directly on the black it would come out looking like blood.

I would recomend thinning your red ink, and using a smaller mesh screen for the red, if thats possible. The reason being less build up, and the print won't appear to be so thick. Also plastisol inks only need a surface temp of about 350 to cure, even less if you want to just flash the surface and apply a second print. Overall, I still think it's not bad that you managed what you did, a screen printed shirt can be worn and washed, iron ons while simple to produce, fade badly after even the first washing.
