Do you think Playmore is doing a good job? Why or why not? Do you think another company like Pacific Century CyberWorks Japan or Enix should have bought the SNK rights and properties. Why or why not? What could have been some other possibilities? Just want to know your opinion.

Playmore is doing a ok job, at least they still supporting MVS and putting games out for AES home carts.
If other company, any Japan or US company that bought SNK rights and properties, they would pull the life support plug immediately.
All the new games will be on PS/PS2, GC, DC, Xbox or even GBA only.
buttrock

MVS can't generate profits if playmore keep putting out recycle games like Metal slug 4 *coughs* KOF2K2 *coughs*... annoyed

Nobody even bother to visit the Arcade centre, they rather stay at home and play their PS2, GC or Xbox.
Its sad but its the truth. crying

I like the ports. Ports are good. King of Fighters, ugh. Rehash rehash rehash with some gameplay improvement. Still worth playing, but which revision to choose? There is no definate BEST KOF EVAR!

RotD. I hate that game, would have made a better beat em up.

Metal Slug 4. I don't mind reusing crap in that. Metal Slug is Metal Slug. It needs no improvement as it has nothing to compete with, and is awesome already.

SNK vs Capcom will be the deciding factor whether or not I continue to actually look foward to their releases. If it turns out as disappointing as I imagine it will then I'll at least be able to catch up on some other game buying.

I think they need to break out of the mold and try to come out with different types of games.
How many fighters can a system have?
How many sequels can a game have?
It is time for change. That change will never come.

Playmore is improving. Not as fast as I'd like to see, but who knows - say they get the new staff they are looking for, and they manage to recruit some bright kids, then they might be able to roll out more finished products.

Basically, playmore appears to be working in a schedule. Games are coming out within a certain intervale, and we can assume that either MS5 or SNK vs. Capcom will be released in September, if things keep going as they have been over the past year and a half. But importantly, even if the game isn't finished - if they reach the deadline, it's probably going out. They seem more interested in making money than releasing the best possible game right now. They aren't sitting on the great coffers of the Last Blade era. Know what I mean.

yes. I'm very pleased with KOF 2001. Eolith did a great job making this game. KOF 2002 is great but could be better. if they keep on, arcade in my country can last forever. KOF is the single thing keeping arcades alive here

I would like to see more genres from playmore while they focus in fighting games

Sure. Something is better than nothing. I'd rather have Playmore putting out games than no games at all.

I'm not much of a gamer, wait that's not true, I'm a total gamer, but I'm not very good at it. I'm more of a button masher. So, I think I'm not really qualified to offer the same kind of opinions that Fran, EW, LWK, Spike Spiegel & co can offer.

I however, have KOF2001 & KOF2002, and ROTD, and I've played them alone and with friends, and I've had alot of fun with them. About as much fun as I've had with SS1 & 2.

So yeah, Playmore's ok with me.

I think the fact that AES carts are still being made says Playmore is doing OK, by us fans.

AES carts are not cheap to make, and we are obviously paying high prices for them (325.00), however the fact that they are even produced amazes me.

Playmore could definitely put more into the releases they have brought to market thus far. As we can all plainly see, the graphic, sound and playability of games that came out some years before, are often better than the new releases.

Give them a little time to hire new talent, recruit old (SNK) talent, and become generally more familiar with creating our favorite games, and they will come through. If not, they will go the way of SNK.

Playmore has a good foundation, they just need to build on it a bit. wink

First of all I'm just happy that a company has "picked up the torch off the ground" and carried on. Isn't it the best plan we can accept besides SNK starting over from scratch?

Second, I wish I could opinion on the new releases under Playmore's watch. I certainly don't have the means to try out these games, unless an arcade around here has them... yea right. I used to know of 2-3 arcades in every town around here. Now its 0-1 arcades in every town.

I agree also, that NeoGeo needs something fresh and new. A whole different genre. Playmore just needs their killer release, whatever that may be. A game that no one expected to be so damn good.

Personally, I think Playmore should work on porting finished CD games to AES and release them here. Cross Swords 2, being a prime example.

I think Playmore is doing ok for now. Just have to wait and see. wink I know it's good for them to go after piraters and bootleggers and all, but they have become real strict as of late (or since the beginning), which is starting to slightly piss me off.

I'm wondering...what do you think on if companies like Pacific Century CyberWorks Japan or IGS (International Game Systems) had bought them and what do you think would have been the outcome?
