Here are some pics of my new home theater in my basement. Also, check out my freshly painted supernova. It came out great! glee

Oh, and yes those are B&W speakers I'm using for the surround sound :D Next up is a 50" DLP widescreen TV and new front speakers.

Thanks guys. Yeah the 32" Wega was awesome when I was at home home, but now that I have my own house with room I have to get the big daddy. I'm really starting to dislike CRT projection tvs though so it's either going to be DLP or Plasma. However, I still feel that the Wega XBR has the best picture out there.

Yeah Phoenix, we are going to have a good time!

Very nice, why not go for the full effect by getting a digital projector? :)

LOL Last Blade. I don't have the room or money for that.

That will have to be the NEXT house.

Actualy my friend just got a projector, cant wait to see that puppy in action. Nice room though, and nice collection. I posted a thread of my stuff recently in the unrelated section, check it here if you have a chance. I'm rather proud of it buttrock http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=020253

I'm wondering, is that a gamecube next to the car?

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/xskater2099/pic3.jpg

Is it now a decorating piece only?

HOLY CRAP! At first I was like "Impressive" and then I made the connection that I actually get to game there this Sunday. :D

Seriously thats really nice, having just moved into my own place and setting up my first home theater setup w/ couches and the like I can really appreciate the work you must have put into it.

Maybe I'll take some pics tonight, but I just hate how things are still a little messy from our having to find places to put things (and save the money to buy more shelves to store this stuff in).

Edit: Whats exceptionally scarry is how similar my setup is (we almost have the same TV, although my speakers are MUCH smaller). But I mean like the color of your couches, your tables look the same as mine, hell I even have the same issue of EGM on my friggin coffee table.

That looks seriously awesome. A true gamers paradise. One day when i own my own house i will have such a setup. But until then i am content to play games on old tv's and and listen to music through even older speakers.

Porshapwr I wouldn't suggest buying a Plasma due to burn in issues. I had my heart set on one but burn in is a major factor with Plasma displays and they are NOT covered by the manufactures warranty or in home extended warranty. I would suggest either going with DLP or heck even LCOS if you have the money for it. BTW about the Sony's XBR I think I'm going to end up buying the 40"XBR800 for the release of SVC Chaos drool_2

Tetsuo, did you read my post. That's exactly what I said. I hate CRT projection tvs, Plasmas have too many issues like burn in, no true black, cost etc...

While I had my heart set on DLP, the Sony XBR tube tv STILL has the best picture. I just wish they made a widescreen :(

Thanks for all of the compliments guys :D

They do make a widescreen the 34"XBR800. The new model 34"XBR910 should be out sometime in july that is rumored to fully replicate both both 1080i and 720p signals. If you ask me the set is too expensive and too small to make me wanna open my wallet.

The most important speaker in a surround sound system is the centre speaker as this is where all the dialogue is placed in the audio spectrum,I think maybe yours is a little on the small side compared to your front speakers,of course if you are a fan of Hollywood action films this will not matter because as a rule they dont have a story anyway....................

Hopper, the speaker I'm using for my center channel is one of my surround speakers from my old house.

I have to get a real center channel yet (that's 3 way). However, it's doing the job for now. I may use it as a center rear (6.1) in the future.

The funniest part of the setup? The front speakers are cheap JVCs. While they are loud, they aren't great quality. The rears are B&Ws that were $900 each LOL

I'd agree. And while you are at it, maybe put the B&W's in the front and sell the JVC's and get some new surrounds mounted higher on the wall. I'd HIGHLY recommend Definitive Technology Bipolars all the way around. Incredible sound.
