<a href="http://www.hardmvs.com/html/cpConv.htm" target="_blank">How to convert a control panel and not make it look like ass.</a>

I start with this:
<img src="http://www.hardmvs.com/images/projects/controlPanel/step01.jpg" alt=" - " />

And end up with this:
<img src="http://www.hardmvs.com/images/projects/controlPanel/step16.jpg" alt=" - " />

Also, if you have not voted yet, check out <a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=001439" target="_blank">The worst control panel layout poll</a> in Gameplay. Thanks EW!

Thanks.

By the way - this is part 3 of the <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com/html/buildAcab.htm" target="_blank">Converting an Arcade Cabinet</a> project.

I swear I'm gonna finish this thing. Kernow as my witness - I will finish it.

Nope.

Buttons and Joysticks are from Happ. The CPO is from <a href="http://www.videoconnect.com/" target="_blank">Video Connection</a> .

Note: Stay away from the CPO that looks like this one that is sold on eBay by a seller who goes by pinsetc, arcadegrafix, or boardsetc. <a href="http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/boardsetc/" target="_blank">http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/boardsetc/</a> It is all cheap inkjet junk.

Also - stay away from this one:
<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3228650035&category=13716" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3228650035&category=13716</a>

That one is even worse. The buttons and Joysticks are fine, but the CPO is just inkjet on *paper* and laminated. Complete and total crap.

I have dealt with both companies and sent back everything I bought. Avoid!!!!!

I'd just like to point out Briggs is a show off.

Superb job though, what a difference.

Video Connection is one of the best resources for MVS stuff, with one of the worst customer service setups ever.

Call them and tell them what you are looking for. They have all kinds of NOS marquees, overlays, etc. They just don't mention it on the website.

do you know, whether they are only selling full mvs kits? some of their games would be insanely overpriced, if not.

btw ... i almost forgot to mention, that your panel looks very nice. can't wait to see the restored cab. wink

I have never bought a game from them due to prices, but I think others have.

If I had this panel to do over again I would:

1) Move the CPO down about 3/4"

2) Move the buttons up. On a dedicated MVS machine the "A" button lines up with the joystick. I don't think I could have moved it quite that far, but it could have been up a bit.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy. A few more coats of paint and I should be putting the cab together.

Video Connection has not updated their site for about 2 years, if not more than that.

Just call them and tell them what you want to buy; the people over there are very nice and you will be surprise how low their prices really are.

I bougth Hyper64 kits from them and the prices were lower compared to their web site.

I am also planing to buy some MVS graphics and bargain cartriges from them.
