Well, tomorrow morn(technically today) is saturday again. Time to head out for garage sale galore and hunt for neo. I've yet to have any good luck though, anybody here ever run across AES stuff at a garage sale? I'm sure everybody would love to hear success stories. (Especially myself, I need another dose of motivation, lol)

I found a Football Freanzy for $5 in decent condition. I still have the game eventhough I rarely play it.

That's still very cool that you happened upon one. I would love to come across a rare cart, but to be honest I would be just as excited to find a lowly world heroes. I remember when I was younger (before I owned an Aes) I picked up a riding hero cart for $2. I remember at the time how much i (and every other kid on the block) wanted a neo and I was so excited to actually own a neo game. Over the years, they riding hero cart has found it's way to oblivion, most likely due to the fact that I didn't have a console to play it on.

I found Fatal Fury and Blues Journey AES for around 5$ each in a second hand store in 2000, and a NGCD with 2 controllers and 2 games for 100$ at the same time. I bought the NGCD but didn't care about the AES games, I regretted that quite a lot, as I could have sold or traded them for more NGCD games. But at that time I hardly knew anything about the neo.

In any case in Spain I've never seen a garage sale. In fact we have no room for such a thing, and I would say it's even illegal to sell stuff in the street if you are not a legal shop.

I've never seen any Neo Geo items for the home or mvs system in the wild available for sale. The same can be said of the Vectrex console and its games.

A guy I works with claims to own a neo geo. I asked him did he want to sell it. He said he might. I said how much. He said fifty dolloars. Then, he came back to say give him two weeks to test everything out and he will give it to me for free. He also said he a number of games he will be me also. If this is not b.s., I will come across a find of a life time. If he is lying to me, trust he might as well quit the job. He will be branded as a liar.

One time I found an oldstyle stick in rather good condition for $5. Another time I witnessed a woman carrying around a batch of carts that were in very poor condition. The carts were Andros Dunos,Sengoku,Last Resort I think,Cyberlip and something else...(Alpha Mission II)
The cases were damaged, inserts were ripped and I doubt if more than one had the manual.Nothing to be disappointed about missing out on.
I'm pretty sure I've missed out on one or two finds because I don't frequent markets much these days...but rarely will you find AES stuff which includes NGCD,MVS and NGH.

I once came across a booth (at a large flea market) with the top part of an AES system shell, broken in half and laying behind the dealer's seat. When I asked him what the story with it was, he said it had fell out of a box the day before and he'd ran over it when he pulled in the next morning. But in his words: "It didn't matter anyway, no one would buy it. I don't even know what it is. No sega carts will fit in it!"

UGH! If I'd arrived one day earlier I could have started my AES collection 3 years ago.

Only other time I was close to Neo godly deals was at a local toy liquidator store. These places usually buy overstock from places like KB toys and Toys R Us, so I never expected to find anything... Then about 10 minutes later I go up to pay for a Namco PSX stick and two guys were at the door saying stuff like: "Holy shit dude! Those are neo carts!" "Yeah man! I bought them all!" No idea what he had, but the guy left with what looked like about 6 home carts in his bag.... Ouch.

Yeah, I remember that... who was that again? The way I remember the story, the game was complete and in collector's condition... but I'm probably wrong.

Here in the Netherlands I`d be glad if someone actually knew what AES actually stands for.

On the other hand ignorance is bliss and there for a good deal would easiliy be made if someone did want to sell those big ass carts they found on the attic:)

I remember this story also. Wasn't it from a flea market though?

I've only dreamt of finding anything Neo related at garage sales or flea markets. Out here in the fields of corn it's not really common to find anything even video game related. And if there is it's either Genesis, NES, or Playstation stuff. Got plenty of decent Genesis & NES finds. :)

AIN'T THAT THE TROOF

Reminds me of the time I was walking up to this garage sale and saw some dude walking away with a SNK stock box with 5-6 copies of euro Kizuna Encounter. Asked them how much they sold that for and said 10 bucks. blow_top very_ang  blow_top very_ang

Then he drove off, but I caught his out of state license plate. It was "NEO GEO". Be on the look out for this guy. eye eye

Yea that Metal Slug Songohan bought was a shitty inferior jap cart. I told my grandma to off it quick, as it was festering and contaminating my prized US homecarts.

I have never seen a Neo Geo at a garage sale. I did buy an Odyssey 2 (with about 7 games) and a Colecovision (with about 5 games) for $15 total. The Odyssey 2 was boxed as well were all the games that came with it. They had instruction manuals too. I cleaned up the systems and they worked perfectly. I sold the Colecovision and the games that came with it for about $60 after shipping so I think that I did well. I still have the odyssey 2 though even though I don't use it.

Well, the guy that I am getting the neo geo from my be legit. He just gave me about a good $60 in rare and ultra Yu Gi Oh cards for only $10. Like I said, he might be legit.

I saw this 5 year old carrying a Neo Geo and some games, so I beat the crap out of him and jumped a fence.

I had these games: Metal Slug, Euro Kizuna, Bang Bead MVS, and Ghostlop

After running away and camping out in the desert, I had to use them for fire wood.

End of story.

i've seen any neo-related things here in germany for just one time in a video games store. they had stuff like Fatal Fury 1 and other old stuff. It was pretty expensive (about 40$ each) and I also had no money frown

I keep going to the flea markets around here but not much luck. I asked the guy at a store for used toys, but he hadn't seen one in many years.

However, I did find a NGPC, boxed and in mint condition with Fatal Fury for about $40, last fall. NGPC is quite easy to come by (especially now after the HK clearout) but I've never seen a Neo cart that I didn't order myself ^_^.
