I used to own it a few years ago, but sadly I flogged it. This was looong before I got into SNK, otherwise I'd still have, along with my faithful backwards compatible Atari 7800. Anyways, it was a pretty badass game, the the graphics were so shit back then (the friggin' tanks looked turtles that had bin run over) cos it was quite good fun, if rediculusly difficult (damn you SNK).

No Ralf & Clark in it though, not even a young two eyed Heidern, just two geezers in brown jackets & blue jeans toting their machine guns & doing the whole mercenary thing. They kinda looked liked the missing twin brothers of Scott Bayo.

For a 2600 game, he gfx are pretty decent, nice phat bold sprites, in quite a few colours too.

pretty decent stuff.

Well I`m not old enough but I know the game because I have it in my atari collection.

Sometimes I really miss the fact that I could get exited about 2 blocked guys with guns.....

Maybe a KOF vs Ikari will bring it all back :D

*sigh*

I am just old enough to remember my NES copy. I sold my entire NES collection, 40+ mint games to buy my neo, many years ago, when I was a kid or in my teens.

It was one of my favourite games. I remember playing it a lot with my bro.

Sweet memories, now I want it back

IKARI Warriors on the 2600??? Man that's news to me! As I go waaaaaaaaaay back to that system (still have it to) and other than looking for another copy of Snoopy & The Red Baron I guess this'll now be on my "must buy" list. Is the game considered an "ER" or just "R" ??? I used to have ~Frontline and *Commando for the 2600 but never IKARI WARRIORS. Man that would be something to see. Was the box artwork and/or cart sticker at least pleasing to the eye?

I played Ikari Warriors in the arcade back then, but I don't think I ever had it for a console.

By the time it was out I wasn't playing my Atari 2600. In fact, the Atari didn't get much play after 1983, when we picked up a C64.

I definately had Commando and Rambo for C64, both of which were excellent games!

I thought it looked pretty cool, but in a very retro sort of way, kinda reminds me of 'navy seals' for some reason. The guys on the front didnt really dress like mercs though, more like bank robbers without the stokings for masks, or the dodgey eastern terrorists in 'True Lies'

:D
