Yep,

It is basically as good as the MVS or AES versions. The main difference that you may note is that the screen is a bit cut in the right side (has a black border).

The sprites may be a bit smaller in the DC version, if my memory serves me well, but just a bit.

Finally, the music is also the same basically, just that when the winning screen appears the music stops playing in the DC version.

It is practically an arcade perfect port. The animation and graphics are intact. It is a nice, cheap and worthy purchase.

Also, you may want trying to search a little more next time:

You know, it is a good version of the game, but... it loses something on Dreamcast. When I first played MOTW on Neo Geo, I was amazed! On DC, it just seems like another fighter, and one with not so great graphics (even though the animation is very nice). I prefer KOF Evolution and 2000 on DC, I think they were better ports, but MOTW is still a solid game and faithful to the Arcade version. Still, if possible, I would buy the MVS cart, it is about $40 these days and is really "the" version to own... home cart has come down quite a bit too,

Nruva is correct in saying that it lost quite a bit of it's luster on it's port over.

Following is what's annoying for me:

1. Music stops in the winning screens - kinda ruins the flow.

2. Sound effects are not properly synced with their respective actions - baffling on why this happened.

3. Smaller sprites - understandable.

Bottomline is AGetec got lazy on this port! Prob cause they spent so much effort on KOF evolution (which was spectacular)

? I thought SNK ported the game to Dreamcast, Agetec only published it in the US...

that's actually true since i have the import version by SNK. the "problems" are there but it's still a fun game to play.

Only thing that REALLY sticks out are the loading screens... It's this Neon death by 80's design. Not only that, but it takes about 5 screens just to load scores...

Buy hey, I'm glad to have it! Very cool version and going for about $10.00 now.

Not sure but to me the DC version seems like the colors have a washed out look. The MVS version looks so colorful.

I have never play MOTW on MVS/AES, but the DC version is still a very solid game. Its different from your other fighting games on the DC so might throw you for a loop, but its high quality game.

There's only two things that bother me with this game:

Music stops at the quote screen

Sound effects sound weak

The out of synch voices don't get to me, neither do any of the other problems. I like to play the Neo version just for the badass smacks and hits you hear all throughout the game. The DC sounds bite, and that's enough to kill my wood while playing the game.

The sound is not what bothers me. Its the graphics. Everything looks compressed and washed out. People say its because it was made for VGA mode. I dont care what they it look like total crap. Last Blade 2 on the other hand looks alot nicer.

MOTW DC doesn't support the VGA box. At least not officially.

I always thought MOTW looked a little blurry on the DC. Almost like SF3: 3rd Impact. I've seen other Dreamcast 2D fighters that look alot sharper than those two games.

the main problem:
Money. SNK was deeper in the hole by this time, and couldnt do what they wanted to.

sorry for bumping this old post..

If you don't have a Neo, definitely go for the port. It's not that bad, especially with a good DC arcade stick. Yes, there are some slight differences from the cart version, but for a port it's pretty damned good.

The port rocks hands down

I used to play on neo rage all day during my pre mvs days.

This is the game that got me into Neo Geo collecting

That same time I bought Zerogunner2,Capcom Vs Snk 2,Metal Slug X PSX,and Mark of the wolves from buyrite.

That was the day everything changed!

PORTS OF ANY ARCADE GAME THESE DAYS FUCKING ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
